About Kilmarlic Golf Club
The Kilmarlic Golf Club is one of the anchor courses of North Carolina's beautiful Outer Banks. As a former host of the North Carolina Open in 2004 and 2009, the course is kept in tournament condition. It also includes a four-hole short course from 27 to 45 yards. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom Cottages at Kilmarlic house golf groups looking to stay. Adjacent to the cottages is a lighted putting green and the Westside Athletic Club with 8 tennis courts, swimming pool, fitness facilities, complimentary yoga classes and an outdoor basketball court. The Black Tartan Tap Room serves burgers, signature sandwiches and salads to hungry golfers.Facts

What a Layout
Fantastic course, probably the best layout/design of any ‘beach golf’ I’ve played. Challenging, fun, beautiful setting. Staff was great.
It’s no hacker’s paradise and you’ll want to bring some balls as there are a lot of force carries (although most have a safer play option available to you as well), but if you can’t have fun on some of these holes idk what to tell ya!
We played as a hurricane passed through and the course was drenched — even still, it played fine. Not sure how they manage to make that work but they must have some darn good drainage systems. Loved it.
Best golf in OBX!
I’ve been golfing in the OBX on my vacation for several years now, and this is the best course around. Course has plenty of challenges and is beautifully maintained. Best of all, it’s priced better than any course on the island and it’s only a few minutes over the bridge. We loved it and will be back again!
Nice course, need more staff
Great course to play, had to wait for carts from people that just finished. Had to walk to driving range and only saw drink cart once on a plus 30 hot day.
Didn't disappoint
Favorite course in OBX. Other than playing through some downpours, course was great.
Summer Vacation
One of my favorite courses I have played in recent years. My absolute favorite in the OBX. I keep telling friends about the course.

What a round
Great people and staff. Highly recommend the layout.
Great location and views
Played mid-day during hot, windy day and found hidden gem alongside the sound. Fairways were in good shape and the greens were a little slower than the practice green. Wind was brutal on a few of the final holes, making for challenging finish. Very happy with the burgers and beers in the clubhouse afterwards.
great course; could have been a better experience
Got stuck behind a 5some on a weekend, where it seemed they were short staffed. No bev cart, no marshal. Limited food service at the turn. Course was pretty and well maintained. Would try it again on a week day
Great course for OBX
Played here while staying at OBX for a week. Pretty easy to get to and great course. Challenging and in great shape.
Great course
We had an awesome time! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The course was in terrific shape. Being this was our first time we struggled a little bit, finding our tea, but other friendly golfers helped us out.
Nice course. Ok speed on greens. challenging enough for low to mid handicap.
Gem of a Course
Kilmarlic is a nice course. On the shorter side. If you hit driver consistently over 270 it’s best to play the tips or one set of tees up. There are decent landing areas but when you start playing further up it gets much tighter. The fairways were a little burned out but I still really enjoyed my round. The greens weren’t the fastest but rolled really smooth and true. The biggest issue was pace of play. I started at 9:06 and didn’t finish till after 2:30. So close to 5 1/2 hours. The group infront of us was still on tee box every single one we pulled up to besides maybe 1 or 2 holes and we’re just leaving then. It could have just been group infront of us had greater expectations than they could play to but this led to the group behind us having to suffer the same fate as ours and have an audience on every hole. Other than that it was a great day and look forward to being able to come back and play this course again.
Great course
Loved the layout. Greens are perfect. Tees and fairways really good. Only minus is the collars around the greens. They need a little attention especially when compared to the shape of the rest of the course. Overall great experience.
