Challenging Value 4 5 stars
Practice area had everything you needed....range, chipping area, practice bunker, putting green.
I played from white tees....6021 yards, 123 slope. I normally play from 6200-6300 yards but the white tees were enough of a challenge for me. My normal score is 83. I shot 42-47.
Challenging layout with a wonderful collection of par 3's that will test your shotmaking. Back 9 a little more interesting. Greens a good speed and smooth. Rolly course with nice elevation changes and scenic water views. #18 a pretty, but tough finishing par 4. No GPS on carts.
Wish I would have known that #10 doesn't start near the clubhouse. No halfway house and didn't see a cart girl all day. Only thing keeping this course from being 5 stars was the conditions. Some areas were a little soggy as they evidently don't drain well. I'm being picky. To be fair, the area has received heavy rains recently.
For the $50 we paid for a mid morning Monday round, the value can't be beat. If I lived in the area this course would be my everyday go to.
My son and I played 4 courses on our trip. Ranking them from least to best......Legacy, Talamore, Mid South, Talamore. Legacy a 4.5 star, not far behind the other three 5 star courses.
Legacy, the unexpected gem.
We had never played Legacy before. We were looking for a nice place to play on our return trip home and came upon this through the Golf Now app.
This course did not disappoint! We played from the blue tees which certainly stretched out the par three carries over water, but there are tee selections for all levels. The greens were fantastic and the course condition was 10/10.
We played early morning and arrived well before our tee time to hit balls, however, the starter informed us of a group that would be going off and if we wanted to go early we could. (we still had a 6.5 hr drive ahead of us) Great call on his part. The two of us were able to play in under 4hrs.
The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We will certainly make this a stop again.
Great course in the Pinehurst Area.
Grey layout and perfect golf course for the amateur golfer with great views.
Arrived at tee 9:50 for a 9:51 Start time because of a work phone meeting. Had been paired with a twosome that went off at 9:41 and the 9:51 tee time was already set as a foursome. Needed to drive to second hole to catch up to the group I was paired with. Similar experience last time I played here. Need to get To the tee before time or they Will start without you
This is how golf should always be
Super friendly staff, awesome layout, amazing conditions, and great price. This is a gem that will challenge any player.
Little Gem
Excellent course to play for the money. Great layout and views on most holes. One of my favorite courses to play.
Very friendly
First time playing this course. I was alone, so they paired me with a couple of other nice guys. Course was in very good condition. Greens were quite firm. Nice wide fairways. Plenty of ponds, but no difficult forced carry. Bar was closed due to covid 19 but looked nice. Very friendly staff! Will definitely play again.
Always enjoyable.
Legacy continues to be one of our favorite courses in the Sandhills. The course always in fantastic condition and beautiful,
The staff are very welcoming and accommodating.
Another gem in NC
It is so nice when you are immediately treated with respect and welcoming at the pro-shop. Kudos to the great staff. Great layout, great greens, great scenery, great variety, great round of golf. Good test of golf. Par 3’s are awesome. I’ll be bock! NUFF SAID!
Poke the Bear
The course is in great shape with very nice fairways and greens. Fun and fair layout. The staff was very friendly. Driving range and putting green just ok. Range balls purchased seperately. The only cons were no starter to get everyone going and a few rude old lady members who are too entitled. All in all a very fin place to play.
