Awesome!
First time playing this course and easily the best course for value. Friendly staff and great course. Club house being updated and I’m sure it will be even better once that’s done! Thanks for a great round!
Legacy
Course layout challenging. Excellent condition,; fairways over seeded. Always play the course when in area. Highly recommend it.
Resort Golf
Legacy has a lot of the hallmarks of a resort golf course as it winds through the trees. Fairways are pretty wide, not too much sand, some room to miss on either side though if you spray wide you're probably punching out of trees. Greens reminded me of old basement carpet as they were grainy and inconsistent,. Whole course is over-seeded and patchy right now. Bring your draw if you're a righty as there are several R-L doglegs.
Pace of play was slow as I was trapped alone between large groups, so it took me 4:40 to play as a single. There are several blind shots and they could use bells or carts with GPS to show where folks in front of you are before hitting into them.
In this area you can obviously do better, but it's a pretty decent value course. Would be a good course for golfers looking to have a good time in a group rather than a serious game as better golfers may find it a bit vanilla.
Winter Golf - Legacy
Braved the elements to play in mid-February- 40 degrees- but great course nonetheless. Wonderful staff and the marshall gave us great tips about the course. Excellent condition for this time of year! Large greens that were super fast and unforgiving. Ready to play again soon! Worth the 40 minute drive from Fayetteville!
Pa weather in NC
Actually surprised the course was open with the amount of rain and windy conditions, but hey what the heck I’ll play in anything. The course layout and overall conditions for winter were very good. Only real issue was a group of 4 or 5 groups playing in front of us rather slow. Thought the starter could have left us go off. The back nine seeing there were only about 20 cars in the parking lot. I look forward to play the course again in better weather conditions.
Good Value for money
Overall, I thought course was in great condition for this time of year. One green on back nine was in bad shape, but greens rolled well. Club house is under renovation, only downside to the day, however drink/food cart was on the course non stop. Hot deal of the day, only 35 dollars. Would recommend to everyone.
Great course
Great course all would have gotten 5 stars conditions was not course fault was due to amount of rain. Amenities were not abundant due to clubhouse renovations ongoing so glad to see owners investing in course so this too will improve once complete in February. Will definitely be back.
Spring in Januar
Caught a gorgeous day in early Jan. With temps around 70, blue sky, and no wind. Despite the tremendous amount of recent rain, course was very playable. Carts on path except in rough. Greens in excellent shape, fairways were wet and a bit muddy in spots, but overall pretty good. As you would expect with carts on the path, pace of play was slow( 4hr 50 min. ) , but it was the same for everyone, and at least they had a ranger out trying to keep things moving. That’s been a problem at Legacy in the past, so hopefully they are taking steps to improve. Clubhouse is being renovated, so things are a bit disorganized. Grill is open, just not the pro shop. All and all, a good experience.
Must Play
Legacy Links is a must play if in the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area. The layout is great and one, it not the best rolling greens in the area. A great value for the conditions and greens.
Great greens
Very nice layout of the golf course. The greens are as smooth of green says I have ever played. A course were you can score well if you’re heading the ball decently
Awesome round
The course was in pretty good overall shape. The greens were in phenomenal condition and lightening fast.
Fun,Fair,& Challenging
Course is in fantastic shape , the greens were lightening quick. Well maintained, scenic Landscape. Everything is in front of you, not tricked up. The lay out is simple but each hole is unique. An absolute gem and short drive from Pinehurst.. Play it once and you will return often.
Great course. Super friendly staff. Pace ofplay was slow. Ranger did all he could to speed up play. First time having any problem with slow play. Definitely worth playing. Play everytime I visit the area.
Beautiful course!
Lush fairways and firm, true greens. Nice layout with several blind shots and long natural sand areas make for quite a challenge. Played with member named Chris and his son Jeff who were very helpful with their knowledge of the course and fun to spend the round with!
Solid course and very good conditions
Legacy has a very good and fun layout. The course conditions were also very good, the greens were in excellent shape (several other courses in the area are aerating in late August). The staff was courteous and friendly. The only downside was pace of play; when we reached the par 3 11th hole, we were the fourth group on the hole. A ranger was around but we ended up waiting on every shot thereafter on the back nine. The long wait stopped all the momentum in our round. Using a GolfNow Hot Deal, we caught a bargain rate for a very good course.
Great layout. Course was in good condition. Beautiful spot. Friendly staff. Greens were hard and fast.
Bucket List
This was my first time playing a round of golf in the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area. In playing this course, it has set a good example of what a good course is like in that area. The staff were polite and answered all my questions and the course had a very good layout. The fairways were nice and the greens tested me when putting. I am already looking at booking another time to play the course. I would recommend this course to others that want to play a good course and be tested.
Great layout
Course always fun to play. If you stay out of trouble you can score. Greens are usually perfect. Had been punched 10 days earlier but still great. One of tougher 18 holes in golf due to length and pond in front of green. Played by myself. 1st tee time out. Played 18 holes in 2hrs 30min. Guess this is what retirement is supposed to be like.
