Wort a try
Beautiful scenery. Good tee options for women and seniors. We are super seniors.
Fun Round with Cool Layout
Overall great experience even in the rain. Staff was extremely friendly and felt like we were the only ones out there. Back nine was spectacular and the greens were pure. Fairways were solid but bunkers could use some tidying up. Would definitely come back for another round in some nicer weather!!
Legacy
Was wet but very nice course. For what courses are charging these days if you can get a hot deal for 50$ or less here you can’t beat the value.
Course is struggling with the weather conditions
Always a very nice layout, however, the course is not in its best shape with the extreme heat and weather conditions they are having. They are having to throw a lot of water to the course and the fairways were soaking wet and mushy on a very dry and hot day. The greens were aerated 2 weeks ago and have been sanded and were still quite slow annd bumpy. Also, the cart paths are continuing to deteriorate and need major repair. Still a great course, just needs some extra care and hopefully more favorable weather conditions for the course..
Good track in the sanhills
With the behemoths in the area it’s hard to find courses that are enjoyable but don’t cost as much as a car payment to play. Legacy is certainly a solid course that you’ll get your moneys worth on. Course was in great condition and the greens were fast firm but fair.
There are some great risk vs reward holes and some distance control holes that will have you pulling a mid iron off the tee to set up challenging approach shots.
The course plays well through the natural landscape of the area. This is a course that plays through a neighborhood, but i never felt like i was at risk of blowing a drive into a multimillion dollar home’s kitchen.
This might not make the must play list for an NC golf trip from your favorite YouTuber or Instagram account; however, i argue it should be. It’s a sleeper for the area and a must play of your in the Sandhills.
A gem in pinehurst area at great price
Best set of par 3s anywhere. Picturesque and challenging
Great value & fun course
Great place to play for a reasonable price. Friendly staff!
Ok course
The cart paths are atrocious . The course is ok at best. Greens are nice but the the rest of the course needs some TLC.
Great layout taken very good care of, staff was friendly and they have good amenities such as a beverage cart and good food.
Dissapointment
Our group has been going to NC from NJ for 31 years and have played the Legacy at least once a year ( this year we booked 2 rounds). The course was in horrible condition, there was hardly any grass on the tee boxes, just like the fairways, The greens were fine. We had 14 guys on Sunday April 28th at 10:30 and they said they were out of golf balls for the driving range, It's 10:30 in the morning, how can you be out of driving range balls?. the pin placements were the same on Friday as they were Sunday and the cart guy said that the grounds crew came in hungover and late.
We are going to NC next year, as we always do but will NOT go back to the Legacy that is for sure. Overpriced for the condition of the course.
Course is below average. Greens are the only good part.
Guys, this course is in a very bad shape. There is a lot of flood damage all over. Fairways are not like what you would expect in this area. I would say the fairways are below average. Most of the greens are in very good shape. Ball rolls nicely. Par 3s are all a good challenge. Par 3s were excellent actually. Cart path was washed away in many places and is outright dangerous in some places. Staff is very courteous and friendly. The parking lot is also under construction and it was a pain to park. Overall, it is a below average course.
Layout great for 5 hours
Legacy is an extremely good value play in Pinehurst. One of the better layouts in the area. About 15 mins from Southern Pines. Some new construction going on but nothing abnormal for a new neighborhood as many of the reviews would suggest. It’s not distracting. Management could use a lesson in customer service. Had to ask every question I wanted to know. No information was offered even after saying it was my first time there. Range is nice. Conditions are nice. Prepare for 5 hour plus rounds. Many tee boxes were backed up for 20 minutes as I was playing. Took 5 and 15 to get around for a single digit handicap. Just enjoy the evening and value. With some better management practices this could be a top 12 in Pinehurst area easily. Par 3s are some of the best in the area!
Great course! Making steady improvement. Winter rates are great value. Regular season rate WAY overpriced though!!! Like most area Pinehurst courses trying to take advantage of visitors for golf packages !!
Legacy
Legacy continues to improve. New sod in rough and fairways; greens in perfect winter conditions.
