Nice course to play with your wife, girlfriend, etc.
Very well maintained, although greens were running a wee bit slow. Fairways in great shape, but the tee boxes had recently been sanded. A little distracting when trying to focus on the ball when teeing off. Front 9 is flat and narrow, but the back 9 has much more elevation and better views.
The staff is very friendly, especially the starters, but the members playing on the course are not at all welcoming.
The pace of play was fine. I will be returning to play again if I can score another great golf now rate. Not worth the $70 or $80 rack rate.
Fun course
Great course, I loved playing it. Highly recommend this course. Some water, doglegs, wide fairways, a great course.
Score early
Front nine is flat and for the most part forgiving. Back nine is, well you are in the mountains of western NC, up and down and less forgiving. #11 elevated green right half is 3-4 feet lower than the left, #14 & 17 greens fall away from you play short and role on and #18 check distances driver may or may not be the club of choice there are two creeks that cuts diagonally across the fairway narrow at the front and yes a green that falls away from you. The $40 was an online special normal rate at that time was $79
Love the course
Very nice course, will be back to play again, and again ....
Women friendly
Beautiful course .. Women friendly
OK Course
The front nine is very flat and not very challenging. Back nine called the mountain course and it was more hilly but not what I consider a mountain course (e.g. small greens, etc)
Beautiful course well maintained.
This was our fourth time playing this course. Highly recommend it.
Play it again
Very nice layout and condition. Busy day so played slow. We would return when in the area. Clubhouse had good, fast and friendly service.
One of the nicest courses in the area
I always enjoy myself when playing this golf course, and play here as often as I can. It's always nice hitting off a manicured fairway. The layout is challenging with some very challenging greens. The scenery is fantastic. The front nine valley course is so different from the back nine mountain course. Tee positions for all levels of play make it a course that anyone can enjoy.
Nice course
Great condition, nice contrast in layout, from front to back nines. Apple's on 10th tee a nice touch.
Once in a Lifetime
This course is not for anyone with more than a 18 Handicap. If your or anyone in your party has a modest fear of heights, do not venture out.
It is extremely pretty and scenic. It has 300 ish par 4, uphill you cannot get to in three shots.
It is a good experience if you have never done this sort of thing before.
Great condition and fun to play.
I was in the area on vacation and local recommended this course and it was a perfect recommendation. I was paired up with another vacationer and we both found the course fair but challenging. It was also in very good condition. Pace of the greens was ok, but they were smooth and lush. I'd definitely look to play here the next time I'm in the area.
Maggie valley first time
Overall nice experience. Course was in great shape. Some tees are right next to greens which can make for some dangerous situations when the course is crowded. Driving range was not up to the level of the rest of the resort.
Course is in great shape and very picturesque .
It would have been far more enjoyable if the pace of play was two hours shorter!
This course is a must play
The course is very well kept and is a joy to play. It is reserved for a lot of older players. So, the pace can be a bit slower than I like. If you have nothing to do later in the day. I would have to say this course of a definite must play.
Challenging Back Nine
Excellent course conditions after rain. Two different nines. The front is open and forgiving. The back requires accuracy and punishes any missed fairway or green. The rough rivals the best links courses with intermediate cut that is tough to play from, especially when damp. Well worth a round of scenic and challenging golf for all abilities.
Beautiful place to play
I really enjoyed playing there. A GPS in cart could be nice because of the hidden trouble from time to time but the course was in great shape and staff was friendly, especially the starter. Glad we used Golfnow because I wouldn't want to pay the full $79 rate during the week. Worth the 2 hour drive up there!
Lots of varied terrain.
Beautiful views. Challenging back 9 mountain holes. Greens in good condition - hard to read!!! Plan to play again. Valley 9 holes get you ready for the back 9!
Great course
Front nine flat. Back nine was very challenging
Excellent shape and condition
Great couuse
Green and fairway were in great shape, we had a great time !!!
