Love this course!
This is an old favorite of mine. It's gotten too expensive for locals to play so thanks for the hot deal of $35! The front 9 is flat and the back 9 is true mountain golf. Some greens on the back are pretty undulating so you have to know where to hit to. The course had received a lot of rain recently but drained pretty well. I wish I could have walked as it was cart path only. My only complaint was the driving range was basically dirt even though there were mats available but couldn't use.
Western NC Mountains
The staff in the Pro shop were wonderful. Two ladies who were knowledgeable and friendly. As a past golf course employee I was impressed and that is not easy to do! Course condition were great and the weather was perfect.
Pace of play was very slow and I was playing alone. Never offered an opportunity to play through. A single and a later a couple caught up to me and we played together. But waited at every hole! I was chatting with people who had teed off much later than me.
I had a beer and sandwich in the pub and everything was good there. The tables outside offer a great view while you are eating.
Other than the slow play it was a great day and I will play this course again.
Great Course
Maggie Valley Country Club has a great golf course with friendly staff!
I love this course.
It is a great golf course for all skill levels. Challenging, but not too hard. Great greens and fairway condition. My wife was riding with me and we got a call that her brother was hospitalized. We had to leave after nine holes. I was looking forward to the whole round as I had played the course before but we will do it again.
Fun round
Stopped on the way to Augusta for a fun round with friends. Enjoyed the course immensely. The greens had just been punched and sanded so they were a little slow but not bad. The course had also received 2+ inches of rain the day before but was in good shape, had to stay on the cart paths. I would recommend the course to everyone.
Great Course
This is an amazing course. Anyone who has played it knows its worth every penny. The course is always in great condition and the layout is fair but fun. Don't think twice about this place...
Gotta Try It Again.
Unfortunately, I had to rank the Course Condition lower than I wanted. We picked a bad day to play. Apparently, the area received a great amount of rain the night before that left the course sopping. Also, the greens had been very recently aerated and sanded which made for extremely slow putts. Amazingly, however, they putted fairly true. My only other disappointment with the course was on the back nine. It was titled Mountain Nine. It was a little misleading. Still fun to play but definitely not extreme elevations.
Fun Layout
Maggie Valley is a fun old style golf course. Conditions were good even though the greens had been punched a few weeks earlier. Need to pay attention to the layout to play well. Great value. Will play again.
Maggie Valley
For this time of year Maggie Valley was in very good condition. There were fresh cups and the sand traps were raked and the sand was consistent. I played Maggie only 10 days after 7" or more snow fell. Well worth the effort
Excellent course from arriving to departing!
We arrived and were the only players on this day. We were welcomed, advised on several holes, and even allowed to play all we would like to until 5pm. The staff were more than accommodating, the course was excellent from tee to green, and the bartenders were friendly as could be along with the pro shop. We will return every year for sure.
Wonderful!!!
Great staff, great track, great day & great price!!! Win-Win
Great Course
Great course and friendly staff. Course was in great shape.
Beautiful day in the mountains
I loved my round of golf at maggie valley. The green fairways and greens set against the fall colors of the mountains was breathtaking. The course was in good shape, the staff was friendly and healpful and the weather was perfect.
Don't pass this course up
Beautiful course great layout. Fun is the best way to describe it. Plenty of birdie opportunities on perfectly manicured greens.
Great course
Love Maggie Valley. Will always take a chance when I can to play there.
Awesome round
Great day for golfing, awesome views but tuff pin placements. This is a must play if your in the area. Much better than some higher price resort courses around.
Beautiful Mountain Course
The older front nine is flat, in the valley, and rather straight forward. The newer back nine has many elevation changes, great views and some undulating greens. Overall it was a wonderful day and a recommended course to play in Maggie Valley.
Good challenge for beginners
I played this course while on vacation in the Smokies. The course was well-manicured and I thought it played very well for a beginner such as myself. The pace of play was slow and got slower on the back 9 causing you to fall out of rhythm, but overall I really enjoyed my experience here. I was paired with an older couple, both of whom were really nice and gave me some great tips for my game. Me and the other lady both played from the women's tees. I outdrove her by at least 20 yards every hole, and I am 40 years younger than her. The irony: She scored 20 strokes better than me. Just goes to show power doesn't mean a whole lot in this game if you can't control it. I loved my experience with them as well as the golf course at Maggie Valley.
Nice course to play with your wife, girlfriend, etc.
Very well maintained, although greens were running a wee bit slow. Fairways in great shape, but the tee boxes had recently been sanded. A little distracting when trying to focus on the ball when teeing off. Front 9 is flat and narrow, but the back 9 has much more elevation and better views.
The staff is very friendly, especially the starters, but the members playing on the course are not at all welcoming.
The pace of play was fine. I will be returning to play again if I can score another great golf now rate. Not worth the $70 or $80 rack rate.
