Manor House at Tanglewood Park
About Manor House at Tanglewood Park
The Manor House Bed and Breakfast isn't your typical golf hotel or resort, but its location inside the 1,100-acre Tanglewood Park does have its advantages. It's within a mile of Tanglewood Park's 45 holes of golf, including the Championship Course, host of the 1974 PGA Championship won by Lee Trevino. The Victorian era manor dating to 1859 has been completely restored. All the rooms include their own private baths and period furniture and decor. Golfers can also stay at the cottage, guesthouse and apartment. Park amenities feature an aquatic center, horse stables, tennis courts and more.Facts

Maybe the best deal ever!
The Championship Course at Tanglewood is one of the toughest challenges I’ve ever played. During the reno a year or two ago, they made it a bit more forgiving, but they put those good Bermuda putting surfaces in and it is simply hard to beat! The price is as reasonable as it could possibly be. Quite frankly, other courses in they area should be ashamed for charging similar fees with such less to offer (not including Oak Valley... another gem, but with Bent grass greens). The only issue is that it has always gotten a lot of play which means a lot of common folks who don’t rake traps, fix ball marks, and are likely to eat sunflower seeds and spit shells on the greens (not yesterday, but in general... C’MON MAN!). They should stick to the Reynolds Course, or other local municipal locations. Either way, I highly recommend Tanglewood’s Championship Course!
Happy traveler
Played here while visiting friends in Greensboro. Certainly worth the drive. Staff was great, and the course was better. Very fast greens! Loved it. Will play again next year.
Tanglewood Reynolds Course
The course is in great shape. It gets less play than the championship course, so play is quicker. Great value.
Tanglewood
Tanglewood Reynolds or Championship Courses are the best rounds for the money in the Winston-Salem, NC area.
Pretty Good
Course was in pretty good condition. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Only complaint is tee boxes were not in good shape and bunkers were washed out. Greens were inconsistent in speed from hole to hole. Very hilly course but fun layout. Overall not bad.
Tight fun layout
I enjoyed my round and was pleasantly surprised with the layout. Several excellent holes and found that it plays somewhat difficult despite its lack of length. Greens were somewhat slow but rolled well.
loved loved loved this course
First time playing it and was thrilled to see the fantastic layout, greens designs, lakes, white sand traps, and beautiful tree lined fairways.
Relaxing Teacher
Very nice staff,
I enjoyed the layout. It was extremely hot but “Championship Course “ had plenty of shade. I would play again. Fairways and greens were well maintained for the most part. Course could have used some better Tee boxes( more grass and watered. I hit 13 of the 18 greens and not one green produced a divot. They were like concrete.
I got an excellent deal on Golf Now of $15. You can’t beat that deal.
Good greens
Good greens, but bunkers, tee boxes and fairways are not in good condition. Really good layout, but needs more $ spent on maintenance.
Championship layout -
Great holes And layout No where near a PGA championship conditioned course but the holes are fun Greens were sanded when I played so that took away from it but overall-its a nice course. Fairways were mediocre and bunkers were nice and newly redone. It’s a great course that just need some a little more $ and tlc
surprise, we plugged the greens
having played here several times, I always bring out of town guest to this golf course. was very disappointed the price charged with having recently plugged the greens. Typically is always a great experience, but today, disappointing
Course needs some maintenance
Greens were great, sand traps & tee boxes were in bad shape, Fairways were average at best..
Tricky, but worth it
This course will challenge your ability with slopes. Overall very solid track, although I had an early tee time so the front nine was hard to gauge with how wet it was. Well maintained and the entire staff was very friendly!
I traveled from Ohio and played the course in July and I agree entirely with your comments--it is an incredible value.
