About Manor House at Tanglewood Park
The Manor House Bed and Breakfast isn't your typical golf hotel or resort, but its location inside the 1,100-acre Tanglewood Park does have its advantages. It's within a mile of Tanglewood Park's 45 holes of golf, including the Championship Course, host of the 1974 PGA Championship won by Lee Trevino. The Victorian era manor dating to 1859 has been completely restored. All the rooms include their own private baths and period furniture and decor. Golfers can also stay at the cottage, guesthouse and apartment. Park amenities feature an aquatic center, horse stables, tennis courts and more.Facts

Truly championship
Great layout. A true championship style course. Very difficult from the tips.
Much improved
Great job, beautiful course, with lightning fast greens and so many sand traps. A real challenge.
Excellent staff
Took my sister out for 18 on her birthday. She proceeded to lock her keys and clubs in the car! Staff couldn't have been nicer helping out and hooking her up with a set of clubs for her round!
Course was in good shape. Will definitely be back!
Solid
Course was in good shape, greens were fast due to lack of rain but enjoyed it. Some holes are challenging with narrow fairways. Would recommend.
Reynolds Course at Tanglewood
We tees off early to get a jump on the pace. Greens are so much improved! They’re in the best condition I’ve seen there in years. The grounds crew is finally making overdue fixes like replacing the river sand with white sand and that really helps! Punched out of a bunker on #9 easily. There are still some to fix but at least they’re finally fixing them. I guess the county is paying up for deferred maintenance. Regardless, for a public course, you can’t beat the value. The layout requires planning ahead and rewards smart club selection. Try it and see for yourself!
Reynoldson
Overall the Course is in Great condition, Greens were in excellent condition and and speed was consistent through out. Very enjoyable round of golf.
The Championship Course.
The new greens are smooth and the fairways are in very good condition. Overall.the course is in very good condition.
Perfect Greens
The greens are perfect and fast but fair. Fairways are in good shape but there were some rough, clumpy spots off out the fairways. Overall just a fantastic value to play on a top notch golf course.
That said, the white stakes between 14 and 15 is bush league. While I do understand the goal to keep people from playing in adjoining fairways, out of bounds isn't the way to do it. Either redesign the holes or plant trees to keep people in their own fairway, but oob stakes is not the way to fix a design flaw on a layout.
Good Greens
The Reynolds course has an interesting layout through dense forests. Many holes on the short side but they're super tight so bring your a-game. Greens were in great shape...fairways and rough not so much. However for the price it was a very good value and I'd have no reservations coming back to play again..
Reynolds course is a fun and enjoyable experience
This course is always challenging and a fun layout. I recommend it to anyone.
Customer service
I love playing this course and with Golf Now the value can't be beat. I especially want to thank Chad who works in the pro shop..I was driving to my 11:50 tee time when I got stuck in road construction and gave The pro shop a call to let them know I may be a little late. Chad answered the phone and when I explained my situation he told me not to worry at he understands and he would get me on the with no problems when I got there.. I really appreciate that kind of excellent customer service on such a great course. Got to play with two other guys who were great and had a overall wonderful day.
Green hands...
I had a great experience today. That's not saying too much as I picked up golf again after 15 years. So my review will not carry as strong a someonewho plays a lot.
The course was laid out nicely and challenging. I was surprised how forgiving it was, remember 1st time in a long time.
The surroundings were beautiful and there was plenty of wild life around. There was a family of deer that put a stop to my play for a few minutes as they refused to leave the fairway.
The only downside was the coloring of my hands. I guess painting the greens is a new thing..... Oh yea...the greens and placement of the holes....Maybe next time...if the greens are going to be that fast....you shouldn't put the on the edges of big slopes. Moe than once I exchanged a 4 foot put for a30 foot put.
All in all..... Great time...great course....great people.....all except the fat×$$ in the proshop who decided he was too important to ring up a drink for the common man.
Yea I got my $ worth.......19 over......
Excellent Course
Reynolds course was traditional and challenging. Greens were in great shape. Fairways need some work. But were good.. I traveled from RDU to play this course and I would do it again.
no real reason
ground was hard as concrete yet carts on path only. I wont be going back there are too many good courses in the area that are not so unfair to the paying customer.
Bad drainage
Course is normal, don't like the cart path only when rainfall was 2 dys past..
Greens are ok but are not up to all he local hype fairways are awful all poe and had not been mowed bunkers are vastly improved. course maintance was incomplete lots of areas bare dirt or stumps from tree removal. could not understand the cart path rule fairways are all poe. so far it is nothing special.
Nice layout but lots of weeds in fairways. Bumpy greens!
Tight fairways with several blind tee shots. Bunkers were inconsistent, some with white fluffy sand and others with red clay sand. Significant changes in elevation on several holes, 2 or 3 clubs. Lots of dogleg tee shots, few straight ones. Lots of uneven lies on approach shots. Probably either love it or hate it!
Waste of Money
The big claim about this "Championship Course" being re-done is a joke. Only visible improvement was the bunkering - added white sand. Nothing else seemed "better." There are many, many areas of the course where there has been no improvement to erosion areas, etc. Yardage markers are severely lacking. No 150 bushes. And some holes may, or may not, have in-ground yard markers, or painted yardages on the cart paths. All in all, my expectations of the "remodeled Championship Course" was a disappointment. Also, the "cart path only" rule had no justification.
generally on lazy entitled people complain about cart path only.
