Manor House at Tanglewood Park
About Manor House at Tanglewood Park
The Manor House Bed and Breakfast isn't your typical golf hotel or resort, but its location inside the 1,100-acre Tanglewood Park does have its advantages. It's within a mile of Tanglewood Park's 45 holes of golf, including the Championship Course, host of the 1974 PGA Championship won by Lee Trevino. The Victorian era manor dating to 1859 has been completely restored. All the rooms include their own private baths and period furniture and decor. Golfers can also stay at the cottage, guesthouse and apartment. Park amenities feature an aquatic center, horse stables, tennis courts and more.Facts

Not the norm
I am sorry to say but the round was very disappointing.
The bunkers consisted of dirt and sand plus the dampness leads one to have a very difficult time chipping
In addition, one of the holes was closed and the following hole was converted from a par 4 to a 3.
We were not notified of such prior to playing and thus, the overall experience was just not up to PAR
Solid Course with Difficulty Varying Each Hole
This is not a course I would recommend to beginners. The course is narrow. Shot management and distance control is absolutely necessary to play well. Without both, this course will be very challenging. It has a lot of elevation changes and slopes along the fairway.
This course has a great layout and always challenging.
I always enjoy playing at Tanglewood - either the Champions course or the Reynolds course. It is always fun and enjoyable and challenging.
Tight course
Very good course. Conditions are average. Very nice layout. Greens were aerated so can't really comment on them. Good course to play but wait til the greens heal in about 3 weeks
bring a rake
Too, too many bunkers! They are everywhere. If you are not a single digit handicapper this course is a huge challenge. If you do not have the right mindset it will frustrate you, as every shot has to contend with sand. That being said I got a great deal from Golfnow and enjoyed the round. The layout other than the bunkers is excellent, and the fairways were green in many areas unlike some of the other courses around.
The course may be easier to play as the weather warms and the ball flies further. Pick the right tee box and this is still worth playing.
The land of the sand traps!
Far too many traps! This is something they are addressing, I just wish I’d known before selecting this course. If you're a player that shoots in the 90’s or more stay away, this isn’t the course for you.
Playing a course I watched the legends play
This is a great course that I watched the pros play on in the senior vantage championship many times in the 90’s. I watched Arnold Palmer hit driver off the deck on #18 ( which is now #8), so it’s fun to play that same course myself today. Great layout, greens rolled awesome, but as everyone has said the bunkers need work. Not much sand in some of them, but some of them were perfect. Will play again!
Tanglewood Championship - winter
Greens in great shape. Fast greens. Some bunkers need a little work.
Very enjoyable course
Course was in great condition. Minor problem with moles behind green on par 5. Ball buried and was very hard to find just beyond the green. Greens were fast, well maintained.
Beautiful rolling terrain.
Starters not present to group doubles and singles. The course backed up and resulted in a 5 hr Round. Really enjoyed course, but rate of play should be better controlled.
Tanglewood Reynolds - winter
Good conditions for this time of year. Greens were really good. Nice job blowing leaves off fairways.
Great fun on an Awesome Coarse
if you are looking for the best groomed golf coarse and a little challenge to boot. this is the place for you.
Excellent Country Club Course
Reynolds course is always a joy to play and to bring friends. Greens were fast, course was in good condition.
Great course
Enjoyable. Great layout..wonderful staff and the hotdogs are good but the French fries are GREAT...
Perfect day and conditions, tough challenge, bunkers galore
Tanglewood Championship Course is in excellent shape from tee to green, like a country club.
Lots of bunkers that will snare your best and worst approach shots. Only got out of 2 sand traps in 1 shot.
Very difficult to score with several placed in front of the green, not allowing for bump and run.
Scenery and variety to layout makes me want to come back several times to Tanglewood Championship Course.
Staff is very friendly. Pro shop is well- stocked. Great locker room.
Tanglewood Championship Course was a great value on Golf Now, under $20 with cart for 18 holes.
One negative to the round...... our electric cart barely made it up several hills that were not that steep. Needed a better charge before the round.
Overall, a great golfing experience worthy of multiple plays. I would highly recommend Tanglewood Championship Course to everyone!
99 Traps without sand
We did not lose any balls on the course. They all ended up in the hard pan traps. After awhile we just tossed balls out of the traps. We were paired with Championship player. He scored below par.
First time to play this course- late November. Very enjoyable. My only question o the staff is, "Why was there little or no sand in the traps?" They were mostly hard pan. Otherwise, a great experience.
