Manor House at Tanglewood Park

About Manor House at Tanglewood Park
The Manor House Bed and Breakfast isn't your typical golf hotel or resort, but its location inside the 1,100-acre Tanglewood Park does have its advantages. It's within a mile of Tanglewood Park's 45 holes of golf, including the Championship Course, host of the 1974 PGA Championship won by Lee Trevino. The Victorian era manor dating to 1859 has been completely restored. All the rooms include their own private baths and period furniture and decor. Golfers can also stay at the cottage, guesthouse and apartment. Park amenities feature an aquatic center, horse stables, tennis courts and more.Facts

Tanglewood is a must play
Awesome layout with quality greens, fairways and bunkers but tee boxes and areas around the greens had too many weeds. A little more maintenance and this course would be an easy 5 star. Putting in Bermuda greens and changing a couple bad designed holes improved this course.
Long, but Accessible Major Course
Yeah, it's been over 40 years since Tanglewood hosted the PGA Championship, but it's still cool to play where the pros played. The course has Tour length, especially in the par 3's and 5's and is very well protected with bunkers. Honestly though, it's not that difficult with plenty of forgiveness, and the greens aren't impossible.
I would've liked to see the conditions better, but I'm not surprised it was in fair shape given the amount of play this summer and severe rain recently. Definitely worth a play - would love to come back in the fall and in better conditions.
OVERALL: 7.4/10
Great layout
The course is kept up, staff is friendly, carts are clean. Got backed up pretty good by the 4th hole both times I played but still fun!
Great Condition
The course is in excellant shape from the tee boxes to the greens. More challenging than the Championship course. You’ll use more irons than fairway woods and utility clubs. Secret is to keep it in play.
The course is in great shape. Beautiful condition. Greens are fast & true.
Redo experience
Previously I played here last year. I was recovering
from radiation treatments. Dealing with it’s side effects on the eighth and ninth hole.
I wanted to replay the course a year later.
This outing was a success!
