Springdale at Cold Mountain

Course played very different than yesterday (when I played for first time). It rained overnight (I was told about 1 1/2 inches). Cart path only, no roll in fairways, and they had top-dressed greens with sand to help with getting greens a little drier. Overall, it was still good. It seemed like sand made greens a little less bumpy, but still slow. If you are in the Asheville area, I would recommend this course to you. Fairways and tee boxes are fine, just a little soggy from rain over the last week or so.

First time playing here and overall it was good. Pace of play started out good, but had about a 30 minute wait on 6th hole which is not acceptable. Course was a little wet in a few spots. Greens looked nice but putted VERY SLOW AND A LITTLE BUMPY. Overall, it was a good day. Decided to play tomorrow and will let you know about that round.

Two different nines. Could use a ranger to help speed of play. I’d play it again

The course was great and in really good condition. It rained the day we played but the course drained very well. Greens roll true and the back nine is absolutely gorgeous it's a must play in this area.

Excited to see the improvements & future of a course I’ve played many times. Best shape I’ve seen it & appears that staff is geared up for a terrific future, even now. Positive energy abounds!

Go play this super course!

Enjoyed another great round with two of my sons and father in law. Course in good shape and not crowded for a Monday which allowed a good pace of play for my sons who are learning the game. Tammy in pro shop is wonderful and always friendly. Can't wait to go back!

Went to Springdale with my son amd 2 of my good friends. Weather was sunny and hot, course was in good shape. Had an excellent day, pace of play was good, greens were fast. Can't wait to see the clubhouse, proshop and restaurant when they get completed. Beautiful views from the back 9

Great course!! Front 9 a bit flatter while back 9 definitely pure mountain course. Tee boxes and fairways were in good shape and the greens were in GREAT shape. Well worth the drive and will absolutely play again.

My buddies and I played the course for $28 each which made it an excellent value. The front and back nine have been flipped, so you have a wide open front 9 and a tight target golf course on the back. The greens roll true and they will hold your approach.

They really need to add yardage help on sprinkler heads, or put GPS in carts. The latter with layups and hazards clearly marked would allow the average golfer a better chance at scoring on the back nine.

As for off course, I will give them a pass on the temporary clubhouse as a new one is being built and is likley a nice value add once finished in 2021.

As for the staff? I can only rate a 5 stars, but would give them 10 if I could! They were very friendly and professional.

Any review of Springdale must include the Spasm: a hole that bears a sign warning of danger to your mental health. Imagine a narrow, 150 yard par 3: not too strange. Now, include the necessity of landing in the tee box from 270 yards away on a previous uphill shot. That’s the Spasm. Without the ability to have pinpoint accuracy on a 250+ yard drive, the Spasm cannot be reached in regulation.

Springdale is challenging on the back nine especially. New course owners are pitting in a new clubhouse.

I really enjoyed this course. It’s almost like you can’t escape the gorgeous view of mountains. I was lucky enough to stay out of every trap but that was definitely some of the best looking sand I’ve seen in western North Carolina. Fairway were solid, greens and the rough were legitimately challenging. It’s a bit of a ride from the highway but totally worth it.
