About Talamore and Mid South Golf Resort
Talamore Golf Resort and Mid South are sister properties with semi-private golf courses and onsite accommodations in Southern Pines, N.C. near the Village of Pinehurst. The two facilities are located 2.3 miles from one another door-to-door. Both feature mostly 2- and 3-bedroom villa accommodations with full kitchens, while there are also a small number of houses available for rent as well, including the Palmer Cottage. Villa units are 1,800 square feet, have daily housekeeping service and feature front and rear porches. Both Mid South and Talamore have outdoor pools available to guests. Talamore and Mid South are both championship-caliber, 18-hole golf courses. Talamore was designed by architect Rees Jones while Mid South was laid out by Arnold Palmer. The property offers stay-and-play packages to a wide collection of other Sandhills-area golf properties.Facts

Good course but 4.50 to play on a Tuesday is too long.
The initial interaction with the pro shop staff was very friendly, as was the starter. The course has quite a bit of elevation change and the greens are swift and true with plenty of movement. Good mix of long and short holes. All told a fun course to play, challenging but not overly hard. But……beginning on the second tee we waited on every shot the entire day except the 16th and 17th when in the fading daylight the group in front picked up the pace. We waited again on 18 because a group cut in front from 15 to 18 so they could finish before dark, resulting in further delays for our two foursomes, and our second having to putt out in the dark.
Very nice course, ruined by the pace of play. The course is in dire need of on course player assistance personnel (formerly known as Marshalls) to keep play moving. From the 7th hole onward the gps on the cart was flashing red that we were more than 15 minutes behind pace, but apparently this is not monitored by staff so our foursome laughed over the flashing red while we watched the group in front slower and slower. Still all things considered, a good course for the late fall pricing.

Course conditions are very good and the greens and tee boxes are excellent. It's amazing how incredibly rare it is to find tee boxes that are flat and level! Thank you Talamore for that!!
I played as a single so I can't complain about pace, but I played the front in 1:20 and the back nine in 3:10. It's a hard course and everyone seemed to be keeping pace.
Because of the time of the year I was able to play for about half of the regular rack rate. At this price it is a great value. At their regular rack rate, it's too expensive for me. While the fall weather is excellent it's a good chance to play Talamore!

Pinehurst option
Good layout. Challenging greens. In very good shape. Very busy so play was slow. I would play the course again.

Beautifully manicured course in a woodsy setting. Feels secluded even though it winds through a beautiful neighborhood. Will definitely put on our “play again” list.

Poor Customer Service
We visited Talamore from Florida, during our play we got rained out after two holes of play. The course was no longer playable and flooded.
When we asked for a refund or replay the next day the Golf Pro advised that we only can get a nine hole raincheck. We had six people in our group highly disappointed about the customer service received. Never will return to play this course.

Nice course and amenities
Nice course and amenities A bit on the pricey side for my taste.
Excellent day at Mid South
The course was in excellent shape. Tees, fairways, greens, not a blade of grass out of place. Greens were fast, but fair. One of the biggest challenges was the size of the greens.
The waste bunkers along with the water hazards made it difficult to maneuver if you can’t hit it 200+ off the tee.
Pleasant first class
Played and would go back. Played blue markers and it was a good test.

Another pinehurst highlight
This place is amazing. With full tee sheets, people need to slow down and appreciate their surroundings and how lucky they are. The llamas the staff the course the history. Amazing place to be.

Wow! What an amazing layout with elevation changes, bunkering, and green complexes. Pace was a little slow, but there are much worse places to spend the day. I will be back soon.
