Loved the course
Loved the course and the customer service was great from the bag drop to the pro shop, Enjoyed the course and even with the recent rains the course handled it well and no issues. Great greens. First time in the area and will look forward to playing again in the future..
I Love Talamore!
I played Talamore the very first time the year it opened back in the early 90's. The llama's as caddies were a novelty but the course was ry and hard; the trees hadn't come in and I did not enjoy it. Fast forward 25 years and it is absolutely one of my favorite courses in the area. It's always in good condition; often in great condition. The layout of TOUGH but fair. The surroundings are beautiful. The greens yesterday were some of the truest and fastest I've ever played. I love Talamore!!1
Fast green
If you want fast green, Talamore is your place. The grass is still dorment and that was a downer but the greens were extra special, very fast. made you really respect every putt. The fairways were goof but off the spayed on green color grass it was just OK.
Loved it .
Awesome
Fun course. Makes you wanna go back. Awesome all around.
The new talamore
What a great surprise to play on the reworked course. The greens are great, uniform, and fair. The fronts of all the greens were French drained. The waste areas were now very fair and the new traps made the holes distinct. The cart paths were redone. It is clear that the owners spent 2 + million and they got a fine course.
Much Improved and it was Good Before
What a local gem. Highly recommend this course to anyone
JUst great
Absolutely great experience. Gene in the Pro Shop was very friendly and accommodating.
Fabulous course-truly playable with just enough challenge. Great par 3's with sod wall bunkers . Amazing 'championship' greens.
18th hole is memorable- one of the best!
Great Par Threes
Challenging but fair. Very quick greens, subtle and hard to read. Great par threes and finishing hole.
Only complaints that it was waaay overwatered and didn’t care for the green dye. No roll if you hit wet spots and even plugged on some drives!
Course is in great shape. Enjoy this course tremendously. Great staff. Fantastic greens.
Talamore
Course I've wanted to play in along time, even though the weather was terrible played anyway. Very hilly course standard for the area, conditions dormant right now but they had the tees, fairways and greens fertilized so they looked green. Good lies everywhere, fairways were very tight, didn't hit a bunker shot but the sand looked good and they varied from normal to very deep. I drove the ball well today but if you get offline much trouble exists. Greens rolled nicely with some slope and quick. Great place to play.
Speedy greens
Stay below the hole and play to the front number as these greens are quick and firm. Enjoy this course every time I get to play it.
Unbelievable course
What a course. I’m a 5 handicap, this is one of the best courses I’ve ever played.
Outstanding layout
What a hidden gem steps away from the other much lauded Pinehurst courses. Great course design with impressive elevation changes. Course condition was excellent. Tremendous layout.
Don't skip Talamore on your trip to the NC Sandhills
No doubt Talamore is one of the Sandhills hidden gems and better values. Renovated in 2016, this Rees Jones layout is solid in every way and in excellent shape, including the year-old Champion Bermuda greens. With plenty of elevation change, doglegs and terrific bunkering (adding sod wall bunkers were part of the renovation), Talamore is a really nice championship level course that is truly playable by all levels of golfers. It’s also a great starting or ending point for any trip to this year. For those on somewhat of a budget, Talamore Golf Resort offers terrific packages that can also include Talamore’s sister course, the wonderful Mid South Club, as well as nearby gems like Mid Pines and Pine Needles, which have also been perfectly restored. In addition, those staying at the resort get free breakfast and barbecue pork dinner on Thursday evenings.
must play
What a wonderful course. Perfect condition and a good test of golf.
After renovation, certainly one of the best in the Sandhills
I expected Mid South to be pretty good, but quite honestly, this exceeded my expectations. First off, it's in perfect shape following the reopening in September after new Champion Bermuda greens were installed. The new greens recovered lost greens surface, but more than that, they rolled and looked perfect. As for the rest of the course, it was flawless as well, but even more importantly, this is a really fun course to play. Each hole has its own identity, there's plenty of water and bunkers that come into play, and the course has more than its share of signature holes. The par-4 16th, with water off the tee and the approach, is one of the best, but I also liked the preceding par 5 as well as the finishing holes on both nines that share a common green.
