Very Slow Play
My wife and I played as a two-some today, tee time was 9:36. We were not told if we were paired up with anyone, only to be at the first tee 5 minutes before tee time. After the first two holes we caught up with a group of players, not just 4 players, but a five-some. I noticed the group in front of the five-some was another five-some . At NO point were we asked to play through so we were waiting on every hole. Once we got to 17th tee it started to rain and thunder. So with that we didn't finish. We were very surprised and disappointed to find that you allowed five-somes, especially to be playing in front of a two-some tee time.
Amazing experience!
Had a great day the value great, range great, extremely friendly staff and course was amazing! Not too difficult but difficult enough and in great shape!
Overall great value
Nice course that doesn’t break the bank. Pace of play was pretty bad but I was told it’s not usually like that. Greens are hard and fast
Great Layout
Great looks, the course provides a challenge if you want it. Many over water par three's, Beautiful target golf from the forward tees if playing with a distance challenges partner. Would provide a very nice challenge from the rear tees. Has something for everyone. Well kept. Course runs through the community, to me that is usually a bad thing, seeing houses on a golf course is just wrong. On this course the houses are not as encroaching as they often do on other money first layouts
and they let "me" play here
this has to be the nicest course i've played in Carolina .
the only course I''ve played that looks like it should be
on t.v. every week. moved up from the Orlando area in Feb. 2020 , I;ve been playing in Fla. for the last 35 years and never played a nicer course. too bad the restaurant
was closed. look forward to bringing friends and family back, if they let me play here again.
Father’s Day
Great course, beautiful scenery and layout. Staff was great. I would highly recommend it. Played on Father’s Day and it was great.
Very pleasant round of golf
First time seeing this course Don’t be fooled by the yardages on the card. Due to the hills and routing this course plays longer than the numbers would suggest. Excellent condition with terrific greens. Just about 4 hrs to play and that was with our 3some having brief waits the last few holes. Definitely fun to play, lots of different looks and almost never a totally level lie. The overall experience was equal or better than much more expensive courses offer.
Awesome course
Awesome course that will challenge your whole game
Excellent fun layout.
Jackson course was in excellent shape. Greens a little fast. Layout was beautiful. Lots of variety but not just long and straight. Par 3s over water were really nice. Hills too. Not boring at all.
Hilly Course
Course was in really good shape, fairways were really nice, tee boxes good and so were the greens.
If you think about it, the Jones course which is adjacent and private they should have the same greens keeper for both so Jackson should be just as nice as the Jones course.
Give it another month...
I've always heard, "You've got to play Rock Barn, you'll love it!" Of course I waited until the middle of a pandemic to play but it was worth the drive from Charlotte. The greens were recently punched (would have been nice to know ahead of time :)) BUT, they rolled pretty well considering. I would say in another month, this place will be PLUSH! I'll be back for sure!
Great Value
Little wet but course can’t be blamed for that with this much rain. Greens in great shape but other golfers need to learn how to fix divots. Great value beautiful course with beautiful houses around course.
Winter golf
Greens were fast and in great condition. Fairways and tee box’s all all brown and flood damaged. In need of TLC
Rock Barn was great today.
Rick barn. Course played beautifully today. Not a bad lie all day. Staff was working around the course but no issues for players. Loved it.
Very interesting course!
I have played the Jones course many times and have always liked the course conditions and its layout. Never thought about playing the Jackson course, but I have to say I really enjoyed playing it. I personally liked the layout very much. The course is a bit hilly with a lot of blind shots, so knowing the course is a big plus. Course condition were good. We played a day after a lot of rain so there were wet spots everywhere. Tee boxes and bunkers were in really good shape for how wet it was. Fairways were dormant, but we did not struggle with the lies too much. Pace of play was well managed. I would definitely recommend this course.
Excellent
You couldn’t ask for a better course all the way around
Great course for the value
I usually play this course a few times a year when visiting the area. Nice to be able to get onto a semi private course for the price. If you can swing the hot deals, which is always available mid week. Since its semi private, its usually not busy mid week and can play 18 in about 2 hours. Staff in pro shop and restaurant very friendly.
