First Time Playing This Course
Back 9 was flooded out due to rain but front 9 was very well maintained for this early in the season. Club seems to be between owners so amenities/ food/ beverage was not available. Very friendly staff!
Great Course/Resort
Donald Ross design that is well kept and plays fairly strong against players that do not control their ball. Course conditions were great. If you are a golfer and plan to take in Cedar Point, you can't go wrong staying at this resort.
Great time on Lake Erie
Nice Staff and good, challenging course with tricky pin placements. Storm blew threw on number 7, waited under tree and finished after.
SawMill Creek --Beautiful Saturday on shore of Lake Erie
First -- the Pro Shop was very accommodating to my Hot Deal Special (GN offers rates @ half their normal rack rate). My 2some joined the group ahead of us on the 3rd hole, which made for a very pleasant round & good pace-of-play. The two (from Toledo) had never played SawMill, so they appreciated our expert advice on course navigation. Sawmill has some of the largest greens I have ever played, so escaping without a 3putt is accomplishment. The greens weren't as fast as normal, but still in great shape, as the case with fairways & all. Maybe the only complaint was a few bunkers washed out & more dirt than sand, but the remedy to that is not hit it in the Bunker. I didn't play very well, but always fun to play SawMill, and affordable via GN Hot Deals.
Be prepared to search for balls in the rough
Great layout but course is supposedly for sale and perhaps brute short on staff. The one thing I can say is it’s always been a fun course to play but this time around he rough was simply to high. Four of us never spent so much time looking for balls in one round of golf. That’d be my only complaint about the course. Hope hey got a new owner that can help this staff out.
Sawmill one of my favorites
Course in great shape Greens in excellent shape drying out and getting quicker
Sawmill features four outstanding par 3 holes, beautiful vistas, and very good conditions.
Sawmill is a fine public course featuring wonderful par 3's and a scenic and challenging par 5 hole #12. If you can find a rate that you find affordable, it's a must play.
I’ll be back to play this one again!
This is a fantastic course with a playable yet challenging lay out. I will definitely be back!
Love this course
Had a great time. Would have given an excellent rateing for condition but greens were aerated but were done perfect. Hardly any problem putting. Staff was friendly. Will go again
Sawmill
It was a great round on a good course. Challenging but fair.
Always a good test
Sawmill Creek was in very good shape especially since they had not aerated the greens yet. It's always a good test of golf for me and the greens are plenty tricky... at least for me. I recommend the course if you are looking for a nice track near Cedar Point!
This is one of my favorite courses. I drove an hour and a half each way to play it. Try to make it at least once a summer. It is a very picturesque course.
Tends to be a little busier since it is attached with the resort. For the prices you can get via golfnow, well worth playing. Not having played it since 2015 found the greens to be fair but tough. Well worth playing.
Awesome course
A joy to play, wish the rangers would move play along, stay below the hole
Fun course to play
My wife and I visited for a family wedding and came in a day early to play golf. We found the course to be in great condition. While there were some tight holes, most fairways provided some space to spray the ball a bit. Pin placements all seemed to be protected to elevated greens, so if you missed a green, it is best to miss on the open side. The greens were fast and true, all in all a fun and enjoyable round of golf. The pricing however seemed to be awkward, it seems you get a better price if you go on their website rather than calling the pro shop, and of course Golfnow provided the best price of all.
Very Good Course
Course was in excellent shape. Good pace, have played at Sawmill about 10x over the last 3 years. Always look forward to playing here
Enjoyable golf - limited practice facilities
This is a good course generally very well maintained. The layout is good without being a wow - although the four par three holes are all great holes over water. We enjoyed playing here and would recommend it to others. There are no practice facilities other than a putting green and nets at the first tee. The driving range to the left of the 11th hole is closed.
