About Falconhead Resort & Country Club
The Falconhead Resort & Country Club made a splash in the 1950s and early 1960s by hosting tournaments on both the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour on its Robert Trent Jones Sr. course, putting Burneyville on the map for golfers. The LPGA Tour’s “Opie Turner” from 1958-59 and PGA Tour’s “Waco Turner Open” from 1960-64 only had short stints on their respective tours. The 6,488-yard course ranked among the top six in Oklahoma by GolfPass users from 2016-18. The resort includes a 16-room lodge and a cabin for overnight stays. Tennis courts, a season outdoor pool and bar/lounge area are also available. Hundreds of homes occupy the resort community.Facts

hidden gem
great course
different size greens from back to front nine
great amenities
and WELL worth the money
what a layout
great course
small greens on the front with tiered on the back nine and the ball will stick - they even give you a "ball mark" tool
You will make plans to come back
For Mid-Feb golf, no complaints condition or course wise. Greens were in great shape and fairways had grass on them. One negative was the Male working the pro shop, terrible attitude, tried booking a friend at last minute on an available hot deal, made him pay the course fee of $20 more, wouldn’t let us tee off early with nobody else on the course, required a polo in 50 degree weather while members were playing on course in shorts and t shirts.
My favorite course
This is by far my favorite course. The only issue is the players don’t fix divots so the greens have a lot of marks but they are soft and roll true. Be prepared to make craters if you hit them.
Great getaway
Was a great new course to go play, has some little issues with the fairways but that’s par for the season and with other courses. It is in way better condition. Great value for and fun.
Historic Course
Fun course. Leave your driver in your bag the first few holes. Lost 3 balls on the first two holes. Definitely player error. Ha Settled down after that and had a nice quiet round of golf. Staff was friendly greens were in great shape. I’ll be playing there again if I’m up that way. Course hosted some PGA tournaments around 1962~1964. Small museum in the pro shop. Very interesting.
Fun course great value.
The greens were the best ive played all summer. The fairways are tight but honest. Theres birdies to be had on this course.
Nice course
The greens were very consistent and putted and rolled very true. Tee boxes were in excellent condition for the time of year fairways were not burned up but had gas’s and had an excellent experience playing the course and will return. The only issue encountered was with the Golf Now website I. Booking the tee time .
Great deal, but slow play
I love this golf course. Conditions are GREAT. Greens are the best I have seen anywhere, BUT the pace of play was really bad for a TH. 5/HR round for sure and I played behind 30 regulars.
I can not stress enough how good the greens are here.
I would put them up against WinStar any day at ($50) .
Shorter but still puts up a good fight
A bit off the path from bigger city courses, this private track has plenty to offer. While it isn't very long, its layout uses a mixture of smaller greens, water hazards, bunkers, trees, and plenty of out-of-bounds to encourage accurate ball striking. The greens were soft and reacted well to spin and rolled well when putting. Maybe one day people will repair their ball marks but not likely, fix yours and 4 others and maybe it will help. The Bermuda rough was thick and at times hiding the ball so watch your shots when you go astray. Several blind tee shots so watch your lines. GPS in the cart was pretty accurate but I couldn't figure out anything as it didn't show a map of the hole only yardages. Decent driving range and small putting green to warm up.
Hidden Gem
We were going to be passing by and decided to stop and play. It is a fun course with good greens and Bermuda. The staff was friendly. Got on 40 minutes before our tee time. Course was scenic and in good shape. Great value for the money. Would encourage everyone to give it a try. We will be back.
Falconhead review
Golf shop staff friendly but lounge restaurant poor
Falconhead Golf
Pro shop Staff was friendly and helpful. Course greens average and fairways in poor condition.
Price was a little over the price for conditions of course.
Lounge amenities none and too regulated to enjoy after a round. Don’t take your coffee mug into lounge or they will make leave.
