Great course
Great course, friendly staff, excellent value. I would recommend this course for any player of any skill type.
Disappointing resort course
Very disappointing course. Squeezed in to to small an area. No driving range. No direction signs between holes .
Would not return
great getaway from the city,
great fun, beautiful surrounding, challenging play, players will enjoy the course all 3
Fox glove
Been too course twice this year haven't been able to play fox glove be nice if it was open for play regularly.
Awesome!
The course was in great shape, although too hilly for Tme to walk. The greens although a little slower than I'm used to they were in excellent shape and rolled true. The views are wonderful! There were deer everywhere, bring your camera. Well worth the money
short but tight
Poor yardages. Flew several greens, had two gps devices and they rarely matched the course yardages. I believe yardages are overstated to make course appear longer. Did not see any usga gam markers.
Nice course, great views, a bit slow
This is a rally good, moderate level course with some really breathtaking views. The 3 nines tend to run in to each other a bit and it's easy to get confused where the next hole is on Thistle and Pine Cone.
The only real downside here is pace of play. We were behind a group and we waited on nearly every shot as did the group behind us and the group behind them. There was a marshall but we only saw him on the 2nd hole. Why do golf courses fail to handle this problem? Which is worse, risk upsetting a group of inexperienced golfers by having people play through or anger the faster (more experienced?) golfers by failing to deal with it.
At $57 for 18 undiscounted, much better deals to be had down the hill in Portland and there aren't many discounts available.
The people were great there, very helpful and nice. This is a great course, just not quite worth the cost.
Course in great shape.
The course was in great shape. Greens and fairways were kept in line with some of the top courses I've played.
Very Scenic
A nice looking course. Played Pinecone to Foxglove. Pinecone was easier although had a few tricky holes when playing from the blue tees. Foxglove was longer and holes that were shorter were a lot narrower. Overall had a great time playing. Staff was very friendly.
beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
The course is in phenomenal shape, and offers enough challenge for most (if one can stop gawking at the scenery. Each nine is totally different and the course offers an enjoyable golf experience. My favorite place to play!
Fabulous Golf Course
Very well maintained. Greens are fast and challenging. Course layout very interesting with variable terrain, trees and some water. Great place to spend a day on the links!
Resort at the mountain
We normally make it up here a couple times per year. This time conditions were great! Perfect weather in the 70's! We were able to get a hot deal for 18 holes with a cart so cost was half of normal rates. Only issue was that the staff is not very friendly they seem confused about the hot deal. Half way through the back nine the cart guy stopped us asking questions about the reservation and kept asking for the receipt that the club house guy never gave us after taking the reservation info from us. So unorganized stuff makes playing up there confusing.
Beautiful Setting
This was my first time playing the course, Pinecone/Thistle, even though I've had a vacation home in the area for almost 10 years.
The setting/scenery is the best part of it. Greens were soft and well kept, fairways were like carpet, and rough was often on the brutal side.
Everyone was friendly, and pace moved quickly, although it was not exactly peak time. I will be back, and hope to play the Foxglove course.
fun fun fun
Such a beautiful day and a beautiful course! Challenging and fun.
great course, beautiful setting
The three nines each offer different challenges. The course is always in terrific shape. Greens are true, and some are small and flat some are large with plenty of challenging slopes. Love this place
the greens were fast and sometimes hard to read
I thought that fox glove could use more drainage, there were a few soft spots on the course. Thistle was in good shape. Both courses were fun to play. I had played Foxglove before a couple of years ago. Enjoyed playing both courses.
resort @ da mt.
Excellent 1st impression. Staff very accommodating especially Rob Curry.
Traditional course design in a scenic mountain setting
This is a lovely setting so close to Portland. The course is old school mountain golf, set along a valley with a river running right through it. I really enjoyed the quiet, laid back atmosphere and particularly the opening holes on the Foxglove nine that play along the Salmon River.
Nice To Have THREE to Choose From!
Have played two out of the three courses here. They are both well maintained in a gorgeous setting. The only thing I don't care for is the elevation makes the temperature a few degrees colder than anywhere else - a plus in the summer! Greens are fast, hole layouts interesting with a good combination of fairly easy and really difficult.
Good day
Resort at the Mountain golf course was in really good condition for being in the middle of October. The weather was great, mid to upper 60s. Greens fast and fairways cut, the fall leaves hid a few balls but if you stayed in the middle it was great.
