Super value
Remember, it is January in the western PA hills.... what can you expect.... well, in this case because it was 50+ degrees after a heavy rain the course was in great shape... really wet so walking was the only way. this is a sneaky tough course with some long par 4's that make you work for it!!!, long par 3's that are tough to hit and some easy holes to take off the pressure. well worth the ride out there and for this time of year it is ridiculously cheap!!! Go and enjoy anytime!!
Bonus Round
Went out to play on Jan 21st was about 60 Degrees. Played on 3.5 hours and the course was fairly busy but mostly twosomes which helped the pace. Walk in players paid less than the golf now rate. The course was pretty wet but playable
Challenging and Well Maintained
This course is on the longer side with some tight holes. No bunkers, but the length and fast greens make for a challenge if you don't have your A game. Played many times and is always in good shape.
Nov. bonus
Bonus weather day in November to play. Course in pretty fair condition for the time of year. Whole staff--inside and out--friendly and helpful
Tough Finishing Hole
Nice Course. Played in November so greens weren't as fast as they'd be in summer. Not too many leaves on course. A few dog legged holes. 10 is a unique hole. 18 is a tough finishing par 3 over water. I'd play the course again. Carts were older model gas carts.
Good Hot Deal
Played on a cool Friday morning and was surprised that course wasn't more crowded. Had to play by myself so pace of play was good. Greens were a little bumpy and slow from recent aeration. Leaves were a little problem for errant drives but expected. Staff was friendly and food was good. A couple of quirky holes but a good test for club selection. Would recommend and would play again at Hot deal rates.
Information please
When booking a course it would sure help to know that the greens had been recently aerated. This is the type of information that shouldn't come as a surprise when you arrive at the course.
Other than the aerated greens the course needs some TLC as I hit off several bare spots around the greens. The fairways were adequate for the most part.
Semi tight
used to play this course many times in the late 70s and early 80s. Liked the course then and do now. I play a lot all over the area and this course by far was in the best shape. Very green. Unfortunately the greens were aerated earlier this week but I hope to play again before winter sets in. Lots of trees you need to have good tee shots to score
Where was the marshal?
The only course condition negative was a recent aeration of the greens. It would have been helpful if that info was provided by GolfNow. The holes and sand provided more of a "Hit and Hope' than a skill experience. The major complaint that I offer is that the course desperately needs a marshal to enforce pace of play rules. I was a single player(low handicap) with a foursome in front. They were playing "Zig-Zap" golf and would spend lots of time looking for lost balls. They never offered to let me play thru.
Great course
Fantastic course. Greens were bumpy due to ariation but that is too be expected. Very friendly staff.
Suncrest simply satsfies
Great GolfNow price for a better-than-average course in very good condition for the fall. While other local courses have aerated and shabby greens this time of year, Suncrest's greens were outstanding. Fairways were well taken care of and the course layout is great for any level of player. I certainly recommend this course, for the right price.
Hidden Gem
Played this course twice within 5 days. Haven't played it in years until now. The course was in great condition....greens were fast, fairways lush and green, pace of play was very comfortable and the staff very friendly. Long par 3s, No sand on the course and very little water that comes into play. I will return again.
pace of play
Terrible customer service. Course is in good shape but they are very unwilling to help you.
They do not police the pace of play. I mean when there are 5 groups stacked on the 10th tee box which is next to the building you think you would MAYBE see what the hold up is.
Not here. Management doesnt have a clue on how to run a golf course. You wanna be elite, charge high prices, well you better give the golfers a positive experience.
Terrible terrible terrible. Spend your money somewhere else
Needed a lawnmower
Overall the horse was in good shape butt it looked as though they had lost their lawn mower in many areas, particularly around the greens and The Fringe areas. The greens were rolling well and much better than in years past. For the golf now rate that we paid it was a steal. Hopefully they will do some trimming and cutting to get it in great shape.
Like this course.
Course is well maintained, two par fives on the front are always challenging.
Great Course
Not overly challenging, but a great course. Kept in good condition and the staff is very friendly.
Typical slow day in Pittsburgh!
The course was in nice shape - the weather was great - we ran into what everyone else complains about! SLOW GOLF! We were a foursome - husband and wife twosomes - and we waited on about every shot!!! These guys were either - the worst golfers ever - or trying to qualify for the US Open next year! In defense of the course - they treated us great - but can't control the pace of play - not a ranger in sight!
starting downhill
The course is still a good one but it is starting to go downhill. There are some weedy spots and the greens were uneven in speed. The 18th hole is a little ridiculous. Water in front and back and a small green on a long par 3. A little overpriced but worth it if you get a deal.
We play it often
Always a challenging but fun round. Tree lined fairways put a premium on driving the golf ball. The four par 3's challenge you with length and/or geography. The greens are always in great shape but are on the smaller side to compensate for no bunkers on the course. As usual, the course was well manicured. The staff is always friendly and courteous. If my brother and I had a chainsaw in the bag today, we both would have had a great round!
Nice course
Pretty course , got right out before tee time . After 3 holes a foursome let me play trough but on 5 had too play behind another foursome who were taking their time At the turn played through with nobody in front till 16. Another 4 some let me pass. Playing alone you are sure to catch up to somebody. Altogether it was a fun day on a nice course
