Great College Course
It's been a couple of years since I've played The Walker Course and I am happy to see it still does not disappoint. A really fun track to play.
New favorite
After reading the reviews and ratings I was somewhat skeptical of the course living up to the hype, it did. Excellent layout that fairly tests all parts of your game. Be sure to enable the slope function on your rangefinder and don’t forget your camera
GO GAMECOCKS!!!!
Thanks Chip for the awesome round. Good 94 from tips. Awesome 81 for me!!!! Best score so far from tips. Clubhouse worked effortlessly to resolve issue with online booking. Greens rolled true as always. I don't think my ball hit a bump the entire round. 2 chip in's. Always good to have 0 putts. Only double was on 18. Found water, missed 4 footer for bogey.
Play it
I am going to make this a must do whenever we are in Greenville. Top notch shape. No two holes the same and the front and back are very different. I really enjoyed the back. The last few holes have gorgeous views of the lake. I had the good fortune of playing with a member who provided great advice. The starter and pro shop are the friendliest I have encountered. You will love the entire experience!
Course was fantastic as usuall. Tips are fun hitting 4 iron or hybrid into par 3's.
Always great!
The walker course never disappoints. From golf shop to 18th green, excellent experience!
Rained all day the previous day and the fairways and bunkers were excellent.Greens were slightly punched but were in very good shape.
First time
First time playing for me and my son. Great, great course. Staff was awesome. All folks playing were friendly. As it was my son’s first time playing, the pace of play a lot of faster than I anticipated. For first time or novice players, beware. Other than that observation, 5 stars across the board. Highly recommend
Best Public course in upstate
Great tee boxes, fairways, greens roll true. Not a better public course within an hour drive.
Pairing up.
Course was fantastic. Normally, I do not mind being paired up especially when I play solo but today they paired me with a mom and her two sons. Pretty sure they'd have much rather enjoyed the time together without a stranger. This is the first negative thing I've had to say about this course.
Nice wide fairways
The Walker course was a fair test. Wide fairways kept the pace of play moving even for off target drives. The greens were mostly flat, but very fast. Various tees allowed you to select your challenge.
The practice facilities are top notch with a driving range, putting green, chipping green, and sand practice area. Every course should provide these practice facilities.
The back nine has some fantastic views of the lake. The wind off the lake makes these holes even more challenging, especially the signature par three 17th hole.
Tips
Play this course every chance I get. Tips are quite challenging, especially the par 3's and par on 9 gains a stroke on the field. Shot 85 from tips today.
Go GAMECOCKS!
Course seems to be better every time I play it. Only one course in the area that matches this course that being Cateechee. I will continue to play here every chance I get. We're it not for the steep initiation fee I think I'd become a member.
