GREENS NEED TO BE BETTER
First time playing down in Myrtle Beach (planning a golf trip in the fall with some friends) and this was one of the places we looked at. Thankfully there were two courses in case we wanted to play the other. Booked the first tee time since it was supposed to rain that afternoon (it didnt lol, SC weather for you). But overall, the experience from the driving range to the staff was great. But once we started playing, there were a few greens that were not up to par at all. Saw so many patches of grass on the green as we were putting. Had hoped all the greens were not like this and they weren't, but for $74 you would expect perfect conditions or at least a heads up about them before playing. Overall, it was a pretty decent time playing.
Very friendly staff and ready to help us with our tee time. I was there with my two sons and two grandsons and they did manage so that we can have family time together. Will sure come back to play there.
Great layout for vacation golf.
Great layout for vacation golf. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Really hard to lose a ball unless you hit in on the water. I played the whites since I was the random 4th guy. Coastal greens are a little furry and slow for my liking but they were in great condition. Flagsticks did have some kind of little contraption that kept the ball from going to the bottom of the hole. (Covid leftover, I’m sure) My group was a “flag in” group so I just made it work.
I would definitely play again and recommend it highly.
Greens could be better
For $70+ for 18 holes the greens need to be nice enough to eat off of. Some were so patchy it was hard to read the green. But overall nice course. Great view on 18 also to end the day.
Terrible Course
One of the worst courses I’ve ever played. Course is not maintained at all the greens and tee boxes are horrible. Fairways have tons of tall grass and random spots that have been dug up by what looks like machinery. The only stop for beverages was closed even though we where told it was going to be open and they only had 1 cart girl working between both courses so we where lucky to see her once. This place is not worth the money I’ll not be coming back if I could get my money back I would.
This course was awful
Greens was in terrible shape, halfway shack was closed, ranger ran out of water by 4th hole, cart girl didn’t have ice to give out, has to be the worst course I have played in a long time.
Average at best
Not the kind of condition you’d expect for close to $100, a lot of dead areas on greens, dead tee boxes, long fairway grass
Not worth the $$$
I paid 88$ to play and I would not recommend this course to anyone. This is usually one of my favorite courses to play when I’m in MB but the maintenance crew has lost the greens.
The greens were awful with dirt black spots not even brown black all over it. Not one green looked like it was properly maintained. Have to cross this off the list of courses to visit when I come back to MB.
Aerated greens
Horrible greens. Just aerated and lots of sand in the greens.
Aerated greens
No one warned us that the greens had just been aerated and sanded. Putting was awful since nothing will roll straight.
Greens were terrible.
The tees and fairways were good, but the greens were only half grass, they looked like they had a fungus. Speed was different on each green.
A must play when in Myrtle Beach
This course is in great shape, challenging but fair and playable. You’ll use every club in your bag. It was only my second time playing at the Pine Hills course and a friends first time. They really enjoyed golfing there. Probably some of the best tees, fairways, and greens I’ve played recently.
