Excellent golf course
Had a great day of golf on a wonderful course, and would play again
Worth playing
Course in good shape for this time of year, greens in good shape, staff friedly.
Extremely slow play
Had 11:52 tee time, actually teed off 12:15. Group in front obviously had 2 beginners who kept dropping another ball after a bad shot. After 9 holes they had two holes open in front. Ranger either didn't pick up on it or didn't care. After 15 holes picked up and called it a day!
Turkey day rabbit
I was the rabbit on thanksgiving morning so had no issues with pace. I did catch a twosome they had let off the back but never slowed down. I walked(which was the same price as riding unfortunately) but played in 3 hours. Course was wet from rain prior day and some while playing but greens were in great shape and overall course was in great shape. Decent amount of bunkers had standing water in them but due to holidays and rain some can be expected. Luckily I did not hit it in them. Even with the course closing early for thanksgiving the starter allowed me to go out again since they were open and I had played fast which was a nice bonus.
Great course
The condition of the course was very good, the pace was perfect (we played slightly under 4 hours), good diversity between the holes.
Rude Counterperson/Good Course
The gentleman that checked us in was somewhat rude; as we had booked through Golf Now for a threesome but did not pay anything up front. One of our threesome is a SC local and wanted to pay what would be his better rate; but the counter person wouldn't have it. It was clear that they do NOT like Golf Now. If it wasnt for my friends I would have cancelled right there and got on another local course or just a driving range. Then they separated our threesome with two of us on the Pines and one of Palmetto; luckily one of the PLEASANT people at the bag drop helped us out. How you separate a pre-booked threesome is ridiculous; but this gentleman made it right.
Attn management: Customers are your livelihood; treat them like crap and they go elsewhere. If you hire people with chips on their shoulder, that's NOT a wise business decision.
Conditions were excellent, lots of evidence of proper seeding and other maintenance.
