Cups look 3 days old
Played on Saturday PM after rain on Friday. That explained slow greens but holes appeared to have been cut before Friday rain. I expected better.
Worse pace of play
Had a 2:34 tee time Friday. Beautiful course with a nice layout I was really excited to play. Friendly pro shop staff and starter. Very disappointed when it took 3 and half hour to play front 9. More disappointing was when the ranger came out at 7:05pm at the 14th tee and asked us very rudely to pack it in. I know he was just doing his job but he really sucked at it. Not a people person at all. As we were headed back saw about 24 guys at the 17th tee teeing off in group off 8s. I guess the golf course packed way too many people on the course. I don’t think I’ll be coming back until I know I can finish my round.
A very good value
The course was in good shape and had greens that rolled pretty well. This is definitely a course you want to play because of the value.
Great day at Pametto
We enjoyed our day at Palmetto. We will come back for sure.
Pace of play
The clubhouse decided to put 2 groups in front of us on number 10... we had 4 groups on one hole !
Myrtlewood Golf Club - Pine Hills
We enjoyed our day with a nice couple from Pittsburg. The course and the layout were great.
We will play it again before leaving back to Canada.
Overpriced but solid track
It had been years since I played here, but on an early Tuesday morning and at $93 it was overpriced. Course has a number of doglegs that you can hit less than driver on to keep the ball in the fairway, the conditioning overall was good, very wet (CPO) in places from the recent rain. Greens would hold a shot and the green speed was good, it was difficult to hole putts as subtle breaks and a number of pins hung on sloped corners made for scoring to be very difficult. Pace of play was good as we were put off on the back 9 and really didn't have to wait until we made the turn back to #1, pace of play still moved along ok.
Great course
Loved the view of the intercostal waterway throughout the course. The fairways are in great condition, greens are challenging but the course layout is open and not too many dog-legs. Pace of play was quick and efficient, never felt rushed. Would definitely play again, worth the money!
Palmetto and Myrtlewood’s Pine Hills are the best courses I’ve played in South Carolina.
Always a fun course
I played with a nice couple from Connecticut. While pace of play was slow on front 9 it picked up on back 9. Overall an enjoyable course.
Great course
Located just off US 17 highway and 44th, but it is quiet. I played the blue tee, it is just over 7000 yards. It is beautifully designed and very picturesque. The fairway could be in better conditions, although I should not have any complaint. The green is reasonable and very predictable. A winding river runs by and it is just beautiful. I was told that the course has been busy all seasons and everyday in a week, that is probably why you have to wait a little bit to tee off before the group ahead of you to finish up. If you play golf in Myrtle beach, be sure not to miss this one.
Always good
I have played Myrtlewood courses many times since 2008 and have always enjoyed my rounds here.
Pinehills in particular flys under the radar, but is a great course in every way.
Friendly staff and fantastic course conditions at every visit.
