Great Staff and Value
Staff was helpful, pace was fast, and value was great.
Great day of Golf!
Had a very enjoyable round at World Tour Golf Links. I was a single, so they paired me with a couple and a single, my wife and I had our own cart, she was a ride along. Both the couple and the single were super nice people and I enjoyed playing the round with them. The course was a lot of fun and in really great shape. The greens rolled nicely and fairways were plush. The staff was very friendly. The only thing negative I have to say is that some of the cart-paths were very rough.
Go somewhere else - this place is closing
They’re turning the course into condos - go play somewhere else. Sand was unplayable, greens were bad. Course closing in 2 months so I understand the no upkeep. It was priced the same as others great courses in the area
it is worth it
golf course was beautiful! the open 9 was definitely better than the championship 9 imo but both were still great. the club need to do better with scheduling Tee time and letting people out. the let a group out in front of me and i had to wait even though i checked in early and was waiting to play
Great
Course was in good shape after heavy rains day before.
Lots of fireants so beware
Rain was not a friend
Mother Nature dumped a whole lot of rain on the corse negatively impacting the conditions. Fairways had not been cut on some fairways for several days. Given the conditions a discounted rate should have been given or at least made known at time of booking..
Nice layout and very friendly, professional staff. Will give it another try when it dries out.
Mother Nature wasn't kind
Through no fault of the golf course Mother Nature left it in very poor playing conditions. The previous two weeks rain left some of the fairways uncut for what appeared several days.
In all fairness the course should have offered a discount given the current conditions.
Nice layout and very pleasant staff. Will definitely go back when conditions improve.
Truly Disappointing—River Oaks Should Be Avoided
Just played River Oaks, and I can't say enough about how bad the conditions were. The sand traps were basically water hazards—every single one was filled with dirty, stagnant water, making them both unplayable and ball-swallowing. If your ball finds the sand, good luck ever seeing it again.
I understand Myrtle Beach has had a lot of rain lately, but that's no excuse for the rest of the course. The fairways were in horrible shape—actually the worst I’ve seen anywhere. Weeds are taking over almost every hole, and the maintenance looks nonexistent. You’d think, with all the rain, you'd get some lush grass, but all I saw was patchy mess and crabgrass everywhere.
From checking other reviews, it’s not just me. Many people complain about MAJOR drainage issues, even when there hasn’t been heavy rain—one reviewer described holes that were basically swamps and virtually every bunker under water. Greens have been reported as having large dead or burnt spots, making putting a total guessing game. Course staff seem unmotivated, and the lack of care is obvious, especially now that word’s out the course is closing soon—they’re clearly letting everything go downhill.
You’re better off booking at one of the dozens of other courses in Myrtle Beach that actually take course maintenance and customer experience seriously. Unless you want to play on a swampy, neglected cow pasture, keep looking.
Not what i expected
Staff was great, range was not open, Tee boxes were in bad shape, cart path only. Assume course had not been mowed in a while due to the rainfall totals we heard about.
Relaxed Round
We had a fun time. Course was muddy from lots of rain so no fault of the club. Will play again.
