Decent Value
Third time playing after several years. Fairways and tee boxes were fine, greens just OK but passable. Excellent pace of pace for a Myrtle Beach course. Clubhouse food compares with a 7-11. Course is in far better shape than years ago and staff is very friendly. Decent value for money and will return in the future.
Don’t waste your money or time
Uninteresting, slow play, construction(housing) on all fairways, way overpriced, staff not engaging, course in ok shape.
Save your money and play Eagle Nest in Little River. You’ll be had you did!
Fun course
Nice course good condition and challenging, friendly staff.
Friendly layout and staff
The course was in good condition, greens very consistent and every staff person very friendly and helpful.
Good Value
River Oaks is a decent value pick in the Myrtle Beach area. It’s not the nicest or highest end course in the area. But the price reflects that. It’s one of the cheapest rounds you can find and the conditions are ok. There is a good bit of poana around the course. Including on the greens. But they rolled pretty smooth but a little slow. Tees and fairways were good. Outside the fairways was a little rough. And most of the bunkers had water in the bottom of them. The course is relatively tight and the greens pretty small. But not a ton of water in play. All in all. If you don’t mind old carts and rough around the edges and don’t want to pay a ton then it’s a good experience
Better than expected
Very nice improvement from last visit. Would highly recommend.
Nice course, friendly folks
We played the Otter nine first and the Fox second. Otter nine is excellent, great conditions, nice tee boxes, greens very good and fairways too. Liked this nine a lot. Only gripe, bunkers had water in them, not all but most..... Fox nine was definitely a bit of a step down. The fairways were a bit thin on some holes, some tee boxes were on a noticeable tilt and worn out 2 or 3 greens had some bare spots, not many and the spots were not very big, water in bunkers again, but still definitely playable and not really that bad at all, just a notch down from Otter. It's funny how early in the morning, when hitting some warm up on the range, about 830am, the sun is smack in your eyes and it is a bit unnerving to not be able to see anything! LOl.... putting green is smallish but nice and overall, for Myrtle Beach area, this course holds up nicely, not too expensive but hard to find anything for under 60 bucks that is worth it nowadays, I will return
