Barony course Photo submitted by JIMMYLAW77 on 01/10/2018
Barony course
The corse was good. We had fun and my wife had the best Cesar salad at the clubhouse. Pace of play was alright.
5+hr round
Very long day on the course. Waited every freaking hole. Ranger came around once and said he would correct. The weight never saw him again and we waited and waited and waited and waited.
Winter Golf
Surprised at how wonderful the course conditions were for this time of year. There was some rain recently so the course was a bit soft. I believe it is one of the best in the area. As a result, I gave it five stars for the overall quality of play. Greens are protected and gettable with good shots. I like the fact that you have to make good decisions and how the course forces you to learn from your mistakes or else. I am recovering from an injury and the course seemed interestingly set up to keep you close to the cart path. That meant less walking for me and more placing balls where I was aiming for holes cart path only. I believe high handicap’s can enjoy themselves here with club selections that are prudent in consideration to limiting the big number. I learned to hit more irons and leave the woods in the bag. I probably saved 10-15 strokes. We really enjoyed the course for this time of year.
Good course to play
Was in decent shape. Fairways were a bit sparse in places but that may be the time of year. Greens and tee boxes were good. Some local knowledge needed on a few holes. Will have to play it again.
Greens are in great shape
The greens were the truest and quickest I have played here. Hoping you can keep it going all winter!
Good Value
Played Robbers Row for the 2nd time, and the 1st in about 10 years today, and was pretty pleased with the round. First, I got a deal on golfnow for $61. I think the current rack rate is $95 before noon and $65 after noon. The staff was extremely friendly. The course was in good shape. Most tee boxes were chewed up, and it seemed like the markers needed to be moved. However, fairways were good, and the greens were outstanding. Smooth and quick and true. The layout is pretty tight on most holes. And the greens are very small and undulating. There is some water in play. Seems like 2 or 3 of the par 3s required forced carries over water. There were several other holes with water in play. On alot of these holes there was a bailout to one side of the water, but that area was usually really tight. All in all, a pretty good course for the average golfer, and a good value with the hot deal I got. I dont know if I would think the same if I had paid $95, but def worth the afternoon rates. I would go again for sure.
Great!
The staff were great the conditions were great the price was great! Totally recommend
kujive,
Thank you for your review and rating. Our apologies for the 5 hour round. Our pace of play is typically 4 hours and 15 minutes barring any weather related delays. That said, we appreciate your feedback and we'll work harder on managing pace for all of our guests. Hope to see you again in the spring. Happy New Year,
