Barony at Port Royal Golf Club

I can’t say enough about the friendliness of the staff. The pace of play was good. Condition of the course was excellent. I’ll be back!

Course in good shape. Lots of right to left holes, and a lot of huge trees that come into play. T times were on time and pace ran smooth. A bit long from the front tees.

Played for first time in about 10 years. Will probably be another 10 years before playing again. Greens very small and very inconsistent. Although size of greens very small, they were still surrounded by bunkers, which seemed overkill. The small size should have been enough of a defense without over protecting with so many bunkers.

Greens were also poorly maintained. Weeds in greens. Some needed mowing.. Some greens so wet ball would plug halfway into surface, others firm and you would get rollout. Never could predict how ball would react when hitting green. Also thought the bunker sand was too hard packed. Layout was not great either. Some interesting holes, but holes 7,8,9 basically the same hole except #9 was a little longer and par 5. The Palmetto Hall and Oyster Reef courses were much better and more enjoyable.

Course is in very good condition. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I play both layouts on my yearly trips.

Course condition not too great. Lots of weeds, thin grass in fairways. Green speeds inconsistent and extremely difficult to read. Never made a putt all day.

Lot of sharp doglegs eliminating driver off tee. Lot of par 4 holes with sharp doglegs so not really much fun to play. No pictures of hole layout so you stay guessing where to hit ball on a lot of holes.

I would not play again. Oyster reef is far better.

There are several places in the Dallas area to play at this quality, but the green fee seems to be cheap here.

Played here last year and enjoyed it so much came back and played again. We also played Robbers Row in the same day. Did 36 and was perfect!! Both courses were a lot of fun to play!! I highly recommend coming here to this course and property.

Challenging yet not impossible to play. Definitely recommend for all skill levels.

Staff was super friendly. The course was fairly wide open but unfortunately we caught a group on 15. So the waiting game started. But it only took about 1.15 to play 11 holes. We were on fire. The greens were punched maybe a week before I played.. But they rolled pretty good. Some spots were a bit wet due to heavy rain they have received lately. So the 90 rule was in effect. Didnt effect all the fun we had during the round. Andy windy windy so chose club wisely and leave you ego at the clubhouse.

Good course, value was I would say on par not bad but not great either so I guess worth the price. Conditions are above average/good no complaints. Tiny greens and kinda some goofy layout holes some would like some would not. Would definitely enjoy more playing it a second time. Short with lots of layups off tee. Just play smart and play for accuracy. No complaints enjoyed the round.
