A Bit of Length, A Bit of Speed/Break on the Greens!
This course is a bit long but not so much as to be a problem, The greens "protect" the course. A flat green is a rarity here - but everything putts true to its appearance.
Our day was hot and the greens were a bit speedy in addition to the breaks. Overall I would say the greens are challenging, but fair.
Very nice course and a great value when using Golf Now...
Beautiful Course
Would play it again. It is kept beautifully. The reason I gave it a three star rating on the layout is that nearly every shot you it is either uphill or downhill and this is if you are in the fairway. But definitely worth playing. I'm just not crazy about fairways that are not level
for golf now pricing, excellent
golf has become way to expensive to play. with jobs going to china and mexico, even the pga can see americans cant afford to support the courses or the pga so there going overseas too. very sad.
lake tansi is an excellent course thats well taken care of.
it rained off and on all day, but we still had a great time. greens were fast even in the rain. there were probubly a total of 40 or so people on the courae. the course was cleared due to lightning so i could see everyone in the pro-shop and restaurant.
i even heard the words golf now several times when they talked about possible rain-checks.
NOTE: course said " if they paid at the course they got rain checks, if we paid golf now via internet it was between golf now and us golfers.". hadnt ran into that yet.
fairways were nice, bunkers raked and greens were running tru.
flags were colored for placement on the green. course was marked well for distance even with a helpfull waterproof booklet on each cart that explained tree, bunker and water distances from tee to green.
NOTE: dont expect your gps caddie to work as Lake Tansi was not available on mine so i had to rely on there distances (which were so-so).
im use to gps now.
if you dont mind $50 bucks for a round of golf then you will love this course.
looks like fewer and fewer people can afford that. i cant aggree more. from the number of players and lack of play, it should be easy to keep the course looking good if you can stay in business.
NOW. Golf now is great! it has allowed me to play more often and visit courses like this (an hour and a half away from my home). from what i overheard, the course should be thanking golfnow. probubly wouldnt have been 10 people there otherwise.
you should really like the course.
i will definitely recommend it.
Wonderful time / great experience
Driving range and putting areas are excellent. Fairways and tee boxes are immaculate. The greens are superb. There was a course book in the cart with distances but the two I played with knew the course and told me the best angles and distances to shoot for. This is a great golf course and I look forward to playing there again.
Good layout
This course was fun to play with 2 completely different nines. Challenging for all level of golfers with several tee options depending on skill level. Good day on a good course.
Good time at Tansi
Staff was awesome and enjoyed the course - a little difficult for the first time, but will go again
great course
course is well maintained. The greens were in great fast condition. Got a bit of lighting last 3 holes, but otherwise great experience
Great Course
I had never played this course and knowing it was off the beaten path I just never had gone. I was going to be driving through Crossville and the Hot Deals price was too good to pass up. I worried as the review from the week before made it seem like the aeration of the greens were an issue but even though you could see that they had been aerated the putted great. The course was in great shape and I really liked the layout. I walked and played fairly quick until the last 4 holes when I hit several groups that were backed up.
Lake Tansi Village
I have played this course many times over the years living about 35 miles away. I have always thought it is a great layout. Played Sunday 4-24-2016. The greens had been recently punched which I know has to be done. The ranger was not too friendly ,but everyone else there is. This is a very good golf course. I have played 127 course so far and Lake Tansi is in my top 25.
Worth playing
The course is one of the best in the area. They just had spiked the greens, so that was a little of a challenge, however ever other parts of the course was in great shape. There are of grown trees on some of the holes which made it a little difficult for my taste.
Decent course, hard to find with no signage
Booked a tee time on golfnow, and got a great rate! Spoke with a couple of members and they said they couldn't believe how cheap it was. I had a hard time finding this course even though I had directions from google maps. There are no signs until you actually get to the course itself. Nonetheless I did find it , but give yourself extra time to find. Street signs were even hard to locate. I arrived ten minutes before my tee time and the group they had me paired with had already teed off so he says hurry and you might catch them in a few holes. So the whole front nine I felt as though I had to rush. I did hook up with a single at the 5th hole and played with him on the front but he quit after 9 holes. So I hooked up with a couple on the 13th and played an enjoyable back 9. Course is a little short but they do have longer tees 4 sets. The greens were deceivingly fast. Fairways are in good shape. Over all I would rate it a 6 1/2 out of 10. Will probably play again if the price is right.
Great experience despite nasty weather
The course is well maintained and every member of the staff was extremely nice and helpful. I was the first to tee off and the course allowed me to golf alone which is my preference, so I had no issues with the pace of play. I would happily return and will recommend the course to others.
Lake Tansi Review
The course was in great shape. Staff was excellent. We were treated very well. We'll definitely be back. This was also a great value.
Tight Fairways
If you like to Grip it and Rip it....this is not your course. Most of the Fairways are Tight! But the putting greens were exceedingly well maintained and the best I've ever played on. . Staff was friendly and helpful; allowed us to get off early as their schedule was not packed. Had us paired up but allowed us to go off as a twosome. Will definitely make the trip to play again.
Tansi First Timer
Well maintained somewhat challenging but also fair course.
Nice challenge for average golfers.
Challenging but not overwhelming. Distance was good. Fairways were in great condition. Enjoyed playing this course.
What a diamond in the rough
The course in excellent shape. I couldn't of asked for a better Golf Course on such a perfect day. We first started out by playing 18 holes. It was in such great shape is so much fun we decided to play another nine. Just before our nine we had lunch in a spectacular restaurant called the nineteenth hole. The staff was so friendly. The starter was helpful laying out on the course options. I will be back and I'll play this course again.
Fun round!
The staff was welcoming and helpful. We played on a Sunday afternoon and the course was rather busy and we waited on the tee several times. Course conditions were good but very wet; cart path only made the round a bit slower.
Great time
Course is in excellent condition. One of my favorites. Pace of play was horrendous though. They had a tournament that morning so the regular tee times became backed up. Usually there is no one there on the weekends. All the retires play during the week
Nice course
Tansi is a very course, well maintained and a good layout. Facilities are nice, carts are in good shape with each hole layout. Always enjoy playing there.
