One Of the Very Best In the Metroplex
This is one of Jeff Brauer's best architectural accomplishments in the DFW area. I enjoyed playing every hole - especially the holes in the hills. I found the driving areas to be generous enough, and the approach shots a challenge. Greens are interesting with many internal slopes and valleys - nothing flat out here.
#17 is the most interesting par-3 - it looks a lot more intimidating than it really is.
#18 looks full of bunkers - but, if you play it right most are not in play.
The staff is so nice and welcoming - food and snacks along the course included in the green fee - don't forget to tip the girls - they only make about $3 an hour.
Arrive early, have breakfast, play well, have a brat at the grill, play well, go to the club house for dinner and watch a football game - all for one inclusive price - what a great day!
Not worth the dough...
Course is fine, worst practice area. Staff are extremely arrogant a d aloof. Most folks that play are tourist or remedial players. Very slow, mucho beer guzzling eating (food is free so people gorge) golf is an afterthought. Endless groups with radios, jamming out. I rather playing other nearby course at half the price that get a free taco and put up with nonsense. Nothing special about course only
A few standout holes and the par 5 easy several short par 4 make the course a yawn.
Great course
Only reason round took so long was rain from night before. Had to stay on cart paths.
Great course, wet day.
Got a great deal on the tee time. Course is awesome, cart path only due to rain. Greens were punched so that was disappointing. We played early and staff was not well set up. No change for tips was an example. Food was bland for both breakfast and lunch but the service was fine. Seems like a club without much attention to detail except for golf course which is AWESOME!. Tee to green was one of the best I have ever played. Really liked the cart GPS, hole description was really cool and helpful as we had never played the course. 4 hour of pace because we took our time to really soak in the course.
Very good layout.
Conditions were great and the service was outstanding. Price though is a bit high.
the theme of the course is fantastic... the staff make the experience worth the money
the all inclusive factor of food and beverage included should be adopted at all high in courses... the speed of play increases and the ability to stay hydrated in the texas heat a must
The course is beautiful.
This was an outstanding value from Golfnow .My partner and I had a great time and the course was great.
Awesome!
Got a great! opportunity to play this past Saturday. Weather was perfect no wind. Course was as advertised! Awesome Prestine condition. Thought i was playing in a Pro's course for moment. i will have to play this course atleast once or twice a year now. Everyone was great! Very challanging course for me as a first timer. Have been playing every course around DFW, but this is more challanging then any course I've ever played, but also fun and long.
Great Course and Service by all you come in contact with.
Course in excellent shape and requires you to move the ball from left to right from time to time but overall a fun course to play for the real cowboy fan.
Beautifully maintained course with friendly staff.
Great attention to detail made this outing a great experience. Stay on the fairways and greens. The woods get deep in a hurry. In many places, it is difficult to tell the fairways from the greens, but the rough is just that; rough. Some lies off fairway require correction to the point of no forward progress.
memorial sunday
arrived at 12 for a 1254 time. no one greeted us at bag drop. went inside to check in. was told to look for cart with my name on it. got cart myself and got my bag from front. went to range. big open range,,,,,10 places to it balls. all too used. bare ground , little grass, those mini tour bags that hold the balls...all knocked over and empty. was told that someone would come get me 2 min before t time and lead me to first tee. didnt happen..at 105 was paired with a couple guys that were 30 min late. that was the worst of it.
the course was manageable and exciting. however. if you cant hit it where you can see it, you will lose a lot of balls. the guys i played with lost 18 between them. they both shot 95+. i shot 80 with a double and triple. greens were the most difficult golf part.
If you get it through Golfnow...it's worth it!
Paid $100 thru Golf Now on Memorial Sunday. I thought it would be packed w/ a noon tee time...instead I played by myself in exactly 3 hours. Could've been less until I caught up w/ a 4some for 3 holes & finally let me thru. I never saw a marshal but if the course was packed & slow...then I'd be upset. The staff was friendly, helpful for my first time there. The course was in really good shape. Greens firm, fairways very nice, rough manageable. I love the few hilly holes. Like I said...if you can get this course at a great rate thru Golfnow.com...very well worth it. Oh...do not forgo the mango cold towel at the end of the round...AWESOME!
Good today, but usually great.
I've been playing Cowboys for several years. This was the closest I've come to an average experience. These guys usually have the service element and course condition top notch. I'm guessing Mondays aren't their best days. Many traps still had Sunday's foot traffic in them and the carts were unusually dirty. The greens rolled great and the place is green and lush. Jalapenie-dogs at the halfway house are still rockin' and the staff really works to deliver a great experience. Still a great value for the dollar. Highly recommended, still.
Great course and excellent service
The course is a bit pricey, but the service and condition of the course were excellent. We had a coupon for $100, which made the course more affordable. The hole layouts were unique and the practice facilities were great.
Super!
Nice deal on GolfNow for one of the best courses in DFW and one of my favorites.
Fantastic Course
Played 22 holes in 2.5 hours. Course was in great condition. Greens were perfect.
This course will challenge your game!
Great value with all inclusive package. Staff was very friendly throughout all facets. Pin placements were very challenging. Placement off the tee is key and keeping ball below pin a must. All in all great course, had a great time.
Course is in great shape.
The course is well maintained and the staff courteous. Half off from golf now made it that much better.
greatness, everything you have heard about cowboys is right.
the service is over the top. all the food was very good. the staff was very friendly and courteous. the course was in great condition. the bunkers had perfect fluffy sand. will play again, very special.
Best overall daily fee course in dfw area.
Really enjoy playing Cowboys. Staff is friendly and professional. Facilities are first class. The course is challenging but it is fair. No dumb rolls off the fairways like at some courses. Plus no out of bounds anywhere. If you don't enjoy the experience, you must never be happy. Fun, Fun, and Food.
