Interactive touchscreen -- distances to front/back of hazards, greens, etc. Touch a spot to get other specific distances. NICE! Photo submitted by GordonATX on 11/05/2013

A Few Blemishes
Course is "recovering from summer" per the starter and it showed on a few holes. Otherwise in good condition. Staff was surprisingly unfriendly. Range balls are steeply priced - I was told at the pro shop this applied to those who get a GolfNow discount. Course marshal was rude and chastised us for being 10 minutes "behind the pace" after 7 holes (including 2 temporary carts-on-path-only holes) and without a single person in front or behind our foursome. He also told us we had to hurry up for a shotgun start tournament that didn't actually exist we found out later (it was already 2:30 at the time anyway). Golf staff could use a little help in the "hospitality" area...
Outstanding Course , A must play
This course is in great shape. Fairways are in great shape with no bare spots. Greens were fast and rolled very smooth. This course is worth the drive and we usually drive down from Dallas a couple of times a year and it never disappoints. The entire staff makes this a first class experience and a must play.
Big Fun Golf Course
Head west from Austin and find a real challenge. Pick the right tee as back tees are truly challenging. Great routing and design ,slightly weaker on back. Front 9 a beast. In great shape despite very hot and humid conditions . Several holes offer options from tee and a couple of fun blind shots. If you could play it twice in a day it would make drive from Austin shorter , or stay overnight and do the lazy river.
Wolfdancer Golf Course--AWESOME and CHALLENGING
Playing golf at Wolfdancer GC is special. The course has three different types of terrain within the scope of 18 holes. Condition of course is EXCELLENT. Reading the greens takes a great eye and multiple rounds, but they are very true and well manicured. Sand traps were hampered in quality by recent (day and evening before) rains. Staff is always courteous and helpful. Food and beverages in clubhouse are well prepared and tasty. Snacks and drinks on the course are VERY pricey. Green fees are top end, but so is the course. As a friend once told me, "You have to pay for your thrills!" He was right and Wolfdancer is a thrill!
Great course, better staff!
Couldn't be more pleased with the service! Will definitely be back!
Course
Nice track
Marshall's were rude, members playing behind us so he kept an eye on us , not the people in front of us which was a twosome. We waited almost every hole
Great Course!
Course in great shape. Beautiful setting. Texas Hill Country at its best. Elevation changes, challenging course. Great resort staff. Marshall kept play moving and moved two twosomes through a slow foursome. This really sped up our round.
These guys were paying attention!
Highly recommend the course and the resort!
Dancing with the wolf
Very fair but very tough course. I can't go more than a month or two without needing to play here again. Awesome greens but they seem to always be verta cutting, or ariating. Even when ariated they roll better than many Austin courses. When they are pure they are among top greens I've ever played.
Average
First off if you are arrating the greens, let everyone know. Second maybe you should lower the price when the greens aren't playable. Lastly, Franklin was an uncomfortable rude introduction to everything from the get go.
First Class Facility
Nice place but a little out of the way in a Hyatt Resort. Based on current prices the hotedeal $40 was a bargain. Driving range OK but short game practice area torn up. Course layout interesting, Conditions nice for summertime. Greens fast downhill and moderate uphill, bunker sand clumpy. Tees and fairways very nice. Rough not too deep but ball sits down and it is fluffy making escapes difficult. Definately recommend.
Hot but fun
Had 12:30 t time. Temp in excess of 100. Enjoyed the round but would probably pick a earlier time in the summer months. Great course--lots of sand--great greens--roll true and straight
One of the must play tracks around Austin
If you haven't made the short drive from Austin to Wolfdancer in Bastrop you are missing out. Beautiful secluded course nessled in the hill country. Expansive views & numerous signature holes you won't forget.
I wouldn't recommend it for someone over a 20 handicap.....you will be in over your head.
Hot & Burnt Up
Played on my birthday weekend. Typical mid August weather was over 100 degrees. But that's normal. Course on other hand was burn out. Practice area, short game area not kept up. Rough for a hotel/resort was 3-4 inches, very tough. Lost balls literally in rough right next to the green. Most sad was the holes were not cut fresh for a saturday round. All had broken/bent edges, looked like a municipal course. I shoot 76 on average and this played to a 90. I love the course in the Fall and Spring when water keeps it healthy and green. Summer is tough - might want to hit the lazy river pool instead.
Not too shabby
Course in excellent condition tee to greens. The inexpensive rate must have been due to the greens' conditions. A little dried out on a few and not as receptive to shots as I remember, but for $32, who am I to complain
Recommend
Course was in great shape for a hot Texas summer with little rain. Challenging, yet opportunity for average golfer to enjoy the course. Scenery is gorgeous Texas Hill Country. Staff provided excellent service. Definitely play again with Golfnow special rates.
Find the Fairways
High rough requires you to hit the fairways to score well. Penalty is as likely to be a lost ball for shots in the rough.
Great facility to shower and clean up before heading back.
Big, well-stocked pro shop.
Always fun to play!!!
The green was slow but fun to be out here at the Wolfdancer.
Scenic
Beautiful layout, good for a family weekend getaway. Played surprisingly slow for a resort course. Good condition and beautiful layout with nothing else around.
Excellent course and beautiful setting
I play here as often as I can, every hole will test your skills! Always a well maintained course, staff is always polite and accomodating from the front desk to the marshals on the course.
If you haven't played the Wolf yet..what are you waiting for?!
Great Course
Played yesterday and the tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers were in superb condition. The greens had been aerated recently so they still had punch marks are were sand covered. They were putt-able, but it was a slight nuisance. Other than that, zero complaints. The course layout is fantastic; has many picturesque views. Will definitely be playing again soon. The best aspect of the course is the bunkering--simply beautiful. Most difficult aspect is the rough---ball almost always sinks to bottom making shots difficult to control.
Handicaps derived from home courses will be misleading when playing a different and more challenging course. I shot a 75 for my first time on this course. I rarely play. However, I prefer to play a new course instead of playing the same track.
