Great Views
As with several courses around the Austin area, this course has great holes with some beautiful views. Bring a few extra golf balls as there are some surprises on this course - ex. on hole #10 you must hit far left side and you will still end up on the right side.
Great Course & Facilities
The staff greeted us as we arrived. They were very friendly and customer focused. The pro shop, restaurant and practice range was great. The course was a challenge especially the greens. They had just been sanded but were still in good shape. The wind was challenging but the Marshall said most first timers like us will have a better round after getting familiar with the course and greens on a return trip. So we will plan that and recommend this location - a great hill country layout.
Great Course at a Great Value on golf now
Gorgeous course - love the elevation changes and it feels really special.
Wolfdancer
Greens very firm and quick
Tournament and slow players
Wondcerful Course
1st time in Austin. Chose this as one of the top-rated courses. Quite expensive, but an excellent course! Very scenic, well maintained, and challenging. I would play this again -if ever in Austin again.
Great course, not easy
I loved the course even though it was difficult. I decided to join the club after playing there!
Wolfdancer worth the price
First off, let me start by saying the group I golfed with found a great deal on GolfNow, so whatever happened at the course was gravy. The only downside I found was the drive to the course. Have your Ipod ready and a great GPS service on your phone or in your car because it's a long way from Austin. Let's just say the course is beautiful, the staff is friendly and ready to help in anyway and the golf is fantastic. The course was in pretty good shape for the middle of April. The greens were fast and the tee boxes were nice. It's the golf experience you want when you're coming in from out of town. If you want a great experience and a solid round of golf in the Austin area, Wolfdancer should be on the top of your list. If you can't get a deal on GolfNow, just spend the money and enjoy your round. This is what 18 holes in supposed to be.....fun!
Texas Finest
By far one of the best tracks in the State of Texas. Will recommend and will DEFINITELY play this course again.
Needed Better Beaches
I had the chance to play this course 2 days back to back. The first day I met up with a friend and we were also paired up with a third. It was a very enjoyable day of golf. I didn't score well, but the only complaint we had (it was primarily from my friend) was that the bunkers did not have any sand in them, they were hard-pan. Also, the greens were recently punched (we knew that before going), but they were still just as hard as rocks. The second day I played by myself as a single and had the opportunity to experience the bunkers for myself. They are very strategic and in all of the right places, they just need some sand added or to have the existing sand raked out significantly. I would 100% recommend this course. But... make sure to use GolfNow to book the tee time with a reduced rate. Anything $90 and under is worth the value.
Great course
The course was in excellent condition. The greens were perfect speed.
OK
Got an awesome deal on Golfnow.com. Reg rate is $149, I played for $40. That is the only reason I went. Course definetly not worth full price. Brown spotty greens and very sandy. Just needed more water most places. Tee boxes in good shape. The freindly and helpful staff was the best thing about it. And some pretty scenery. If you can find a deal like mine go for it, if not, don't bother.
Beautiful and challenging course
Great staff and course! Beautiful slice of Texas! It was nice playing a course that considered women playing the game. The Red Tee boxes were great, the course was challenging yet not out of reach. It was a fun day!
Challenging course
Very well designed with a number of very memorable holes. Played wolf dancer on windy day. Greens were very fast and even with gps on carts local knowledge would have been helpful. Want to play it again soon.
Travel Golfer
Beautiful layout and course design. The long winter made it so the grass wasn't very alive in April this year, when normally it would have been lush I'm sure. Much dry and not yet alive. Also many cart path shifting of concrete needing attention soon.
Loved the GPS and staff!
$4 for a Gatorade was a first, - more than every meal at Steak N Shake!
Expected better for $150
Location, staff, scenery was fantastic. However. The greens were dry, intermittent sandy areas, fairways were not in tip top shape, they were dry and looked like a fairway for an AZ course in the summer time when it is 110 degrees. Did enjoy the difficult nature of the front nine with blind shots and elevation changes.
Dire need of watering
Course is in dire need of watering. Ball rolls way to far. As much as they charge to golf there is no reason to have a dry fast course. If it weren't for golf now discount clubhouse would have gotten an earful about dry conditions. It's a fun challenging course, Just to dry of conditions. Not worth full price, they are way to proud of them selves.
Great Course w/the feeling of seclusion.
I played this course in mid April 2014, maybe just a little too early for the course conditions to be prime. The course still played great, it just wasn't as green and "alive" as I was hoping it would be. The ground was still a little hard and the fairways yellow in some areas, making my ball run a little fast. The greens were in fair condition although a little dry and some ran fast. I was a single and played mid-week in the afternoon without any wait. Staff was very friendly and the starter explained everything I needed to know as well as tips and approaches for certain holes.
I would play again and definitely recommend.
Course is awesome!
Grass still dormant in most areas, but I was on the course alone which was an awesome experience. Some really beatiuful holes.
Great experience
We had such a great overall experience! Everyone was so friendly and made us feel so comfortable! Great staff and great course! Would definitely come back and would recommend to friends and family!!
Magnificent
Great facility all around! Will definitely be back when the weather is nice. Greens were fast! The day before we played the course had record rainfall. A few sand traps had water and the sand traps overall were packed down. Fairways drained great and greens were impressive.
