La Cantera Resort

This was my wife's and myself's first time to play La Cantera Resort Course. Can't say anything bad at all about the staff, course or layout. Was met with a friendly young man at the bag drop who answered every question my wife threw at him, (impressive) went in the pro shop and the friendliness continued. Warmed up on the range and visited with the starter who gave us a good rundown on what to expect. The course was in good shape. Greens were mid speed. Have absolutely no complaints about the course or the layout. Great views. It would have been a great day had it not been for a Northern blowing through which dopped temps considerably and had wind gusts 25-30mph. Made it difficult. But, still thoroughly enjoyed it and will return.

The whole day was great starting with arrival. The staff was great and all seemed respectively jealous we were getting to go play but excited for us to have the opportunity. The staff was excited and clearly had great pride in their courses history, current state and upcoming future. The course was great and enjoyed every hole in a different way. Great views, elevation changes, fairways, greens and range of playability different tees offered. I appreciated most that each hole was very different and no hole was boring from any since of being repetitive whether it's the first or 100th time you played it.

I had remembered the resort course at La Cantera as being somewhat "easy" (compared to the Palmer course), but I quickly realized that my recollection was wrong. It's a tough course with some challenging holes, but always a good round. Some of the holes have wonderful views of the city and Six Flags. Loved the elevated tee boxes on a number of holes. Will definitely play again!

The course was in great shape. The staff was good. The bunkers need a little work not enough sand but overall great.

Returned after first visit last spring. Awesome then, awesome now!

This course is absolutely beautiful and worth the experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A MUST play for the experienced golfer!

The layout is very good !! Warning ruff is very brutal it cost me a few strokes.. Greens were rolling smooth but slow due to the recent rains. A must play.

So, The Resort Course at La Cantera is the standard that all the resort courses in the area are compared to. As former host of the Texas Open it is a great course setup and design. The current setup is tailored to the average golfer with the fairways cut wide and the greens running a smooth medium pace. With a series of different tees to choose from you can experience varying levels of challenge the course provides. There are many cool tee shots out there but the tee shot standing on the 7th about 200 feet above the fairway and green with roller coasters at Fiesta Texas in the distance is very unique. Other features include GPS on every cart, good beverage services on course and good pace of play. Plus, I can generally find a good price on GolfNow.com or one of the other bargain sites. Overall, one of my favorite places to play in town.

Played for the first time the La Cantera Courses and really enjoyed it.

Can be a challenge. But if you're looking to enjoy and not expecting a new course record you will totally be satisfied.

I played this course while the tour played there. The greens are much improved and the course is fantastic.

Great course and great course conditions.

Have plYed many times over the years greens were very average and bunkers were in horrible condition

I've been playing golf more than 30 years and yesterday was yelled at for the first time by a marshall. The course was cart path only, me and my friend both hit into the woods well right of #2 across the dry creek into the woods. After punching out we got in the cart and a marshal rolled up and yelled "What are you doing" (I tried to post what he actually said but my review was rejected for profanity) I tried to explain to him that we didn't see a problem with being in the woods no where near a fairway or the rough but apologized and said we would be sure to stay on the path. He said we better or we would be kicked off the course. With the amount of yelling and threats you'd think we we're kids doing donuts on a green. There's a way to talk to grown men, especially when they are paying customers. We told him he needed to settle down and talk to us respectfully. He drove off, no apology then, no apology later.

Course was in great shape, greens a little slow but sped up after the sun came out. Love playing here but after that treatment I'm unlikely to be back unless I happen to catch a cheap rate.

we were treated very well by all the staff. the course is in good condition, but we found the greens very slow. there is a lot of construction going on and it becomes noisy. it was cart path only that day and the weather was in the 90's and humid, so it made for a long day. overall still very good and we would go back and play again.

The course was well groomed and the pace was perfect.

course was in great conditions. Very challenging, but some easier holes to make it average out. Would definitely play again for rate on golf now. Greens in great shape, but tough.

Really enjoyed the course the views from the tee boxes were great. No blind shots really enjoyed the course!
