About Moody Gardens
Moody Gardens is a large resort and attraction area with a hotel, conference center and 18 holes of golf in the coastal town of Galveston, Texas. It is well known for its three pyramids home to an aquarium and rain forest attractions. It has not only an onsite waterpark but is next to Schlitterbahn as well. There are six dining concepts, as well as a spa and fitness center. It's within easy access to historic downtown Galveston, Pleasure Pier and the beaches. The golf course originally opened in 1989 but was totally redesigned by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy in 2008. This watery layout features scenic views of the gulf, bridges and bayous, and the back nine plays alongside the small Galveston airport. The course is links-inspired with gulf breezes and wall-to-wall paspalum turf. Historic Galveston is less than an hour's drive from downtown Houston, making Moody Gardens a popular day trip destination as well as for weekend vacation getaways.Facts

Great Condition
Greens and Fairway in great shape. Tee boxes had a little bit of clover but overall in great shape. Great value for the price.

Great Fun Course
Moody Gardens a great golf course. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Jerry the starter makes sure he does the right thing for everyone and makes sure there are no gaps that will create issues later in the round. Both times I have played here I was paired with equal players, who were just as friendly as the staff. Course conditions are wonderful and the course is challenging.

Great time
Went to Galveston for a get away with my siblings and spouses. Have wanted to play Moody Garden for awhile and finally had a chance. We played Monday and Wednesday. The course is in great shape and has some really good holes. Absolutely a must play we will be back soon.

Amazing Experience
Was paired with 1 other golfer, a local, and they were incredibly friendly. Between him and the staff, had a perfect experience playing the beautiful and well maintained 18 hole course. Would highly recommend!
Summer Round
Great course, beautifully maintained. Worth the money and the drive! Starter and clubhouse staff were very welcoming, and the practice facility is emasculate.
Marshall gets on you for +5 minutes over a 2 hr pace of play on the front nine in a foursome with 2 beginners, stating the twosome of ahead with clearly advanced golfers is 2.5 holes ahead at the turn…which makes a lot of sense, considering our group size and skill level. We were never on the same hole as the group behind, and a normal pace of play for the Galveston/Houston area is 15 minutes per hole, or 2 hours 15 minutes per 9.
Overall great experience, we’ll be back!

Greens are prestine
If you have not been here ever or haven’t played it this year. It’s in the best shape ever. Best public course in the area by far. Bring your short game because the greens are excellent and bunkers are playable. Course is well manicured and a open friendly layout for any handicap

Fairways and greens are in immaculate conditions. I will be back
Fun course
The course is a fun links style course. Being on an island in the Gulf of Mexico, there is very little elevation changes. Plenty of water to navigate but very few trees. The course was in amazing condition considering the number of rounds that get played on it. If ever in Galveston, I recommend playing this course.
