About Moody Gardens
Moody Gardens is a large resort and attraction area with a hotel, conference center and 18 holes of golf in the coastal town of Galveston, Texas. It is well known for its three pyramids home to an aquarium and rain forest attractions. It has not only an onsite waterpark but is next to Schlitterbahn as well. There are six dining concepts, as well as a spa and fitness center. It's within easy access to historic downtown Galveston, Pleasure Pier and the beaches. The golf course originally opened in 1989 but was totally redesigned by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy in 2008. This watery layout features scenic views of the gulf, bridges and bayous, and the back nine plays alongside the small Galveston airport. The course is links-inspired with gulf breezes and wall-to-wall paspalum turf. Historic Galveston is less than an hour's drive from downtown Houston, making Moody Gardens a popular day trip destination as well as for weekend vacation getaways.Facts

This course best value and friendly staff!
First time playing Moody gardens golf and I would highly recommend it! Even though conditions were a bit difficult because of the wind course conditions very good and layout was player friendly. First-time playing seaside course in Galveston but like challenging courses so you need to flight your ball per weather conditions, all in all very good golf course!

Second trip
Had to drive down again to play. Had some reward points to spend. Couldn't think of a better place. Course in great shape, greens we're fast which I love. True roll. They did have the wind machine set a little higher than the first time I played.

Moody gardens weekday golf
Slow play by an old foursome kept speed of play slow and would not allow playing thru.

C’mon, Rake the Traps!
To be fair, greens & fairways were in great shape. However, traps haven’t been raked in months. I realize they don’t want players to rake but there’s no reason the can’t be raked once a day. Some had grass growing in them & many were almost unplayable. This course is too expensive for that. Come on Moody,, you’re better than that!

Beautiful layout, greens and fariways excellent
Everything was great except the bunkers. We should have been told the bunkers were unplayable and had an appropriate discount.

Great Course... Not so great locals
Very nice course. Lots of challenge on back nine. Very windy down here on coast. Played as a single. Ran into 4some on hole 7. They would not let me play through. When asked, they said "We would let you play through but you're not going anywhere" and drove off. Wouldn't have been so bad, but they were terrible. I would have to wait for 6-8 of their shots before I could finally hit. So much for "let faster players play through".

This course is just absolutely beautiful it’s better then some private clubs I played in relative to the cost it’s a better play you have to play this course
