Fun "Resort Style" Golf Course
Wide fairways, huge greens, all pristine conditions although some brownouts in fairways.
Definitely could use some signage on main road, everyone we talked with for directions say people have to stop and ask all the time...what's up with that?
Course was definitely a resort style, designed for fast play and the views of the surrounding mountains and valleys were great.
Hilly Terrain, course is in Great Shape
I went there with my husband expecting to have some nice foliage views. Unfortunately the foliage map was wrong and most of the leaves are off the trees. The course is in really good shape and they seemed to work really hard keeping the leaves off the fairways so you can find your ball easily. I found it hard to read the greens, not breaking the way they looked. It is very hilly and my ball took a lot of bad bounces. You are playing your shot on a hill either sideways or up and down a lot. It was really windy and cool. My husband played off the gold tees because of the wind. He did fine. I thought the course was unfriendly at the ladies tees. One hole is 498 yds and 2 others around 450. They don't give the ladies much advantage at all. The clubhouse is old and could use some updating and paint.
How a pro might feel.
Great course and in wonderful shape. I've never played on greens that were this fast. This must be how the pros feel every tournament. I also think the slickness of the greens make the breaks much more severe.
I know I'd like to play it again. Knowing something about the lay of the land would undoubtedly aid is shot selection. I just need ti learn that feather touch on the greens.
Beautiful and challenging
This is a really tough course: blind tee shots, doglegs combined with hills, you really need to play it a few times to get a feel for it.
The greens were in really good shape and the ball rolled nice. But they have lots of pitch changes, and very tough to read. Definitely challenging.
Add 10 shots to your normal score, this should be a par 82!! haha.
You can get your scores back where there are one or two par 4's that are allllllllmost reachable, and one par 5 that I reached in 2 from the whites. Lots of guesswork though, as you can only see a couple of the pins from the tee.
On many holes, the ranger will guide you when its clear to tee off :).
Staff friendly, the food is great at the bar/kitchen, the facilities could use an upgrade though, as they seem quite old. I guess I'm just spoiled by Crystal Springs facilities.
Overall, I had a great time.
I also recommend the golf school: I did the 2 day back in May/June and I had a blast. I learned a new swing that I've been working on ever since, but I've shot my lowest since then and I've never hit the ball so far and solid.
Great day
The course was in good condition and somewhat challenging due to the many blind shots. Great veiws of the ski mountains. I will play it again.
Bring your camera!
Even the novice golfer will enjoy playing this course for the views while it will still test better golfers. I played a Sunday from the gold tees and a Thursday from the whites and there wasn't much of a difference except on 17 where I could not clear the water from the whites. Big price difference between Sunday and Thursday but it was more crowded Thursday perhaps because Sunday is a getaway day for some. Lots of blind shots but the fairways are wide and I did not have any trouble finding my ball in the rough.
"I'm blind"
Nowhere in my research did I find anyone who mentioned that most if not all tee shots are blind. I know it's a mountain course, but I was hoping for better. The greens were good, but most break was more visual than in reality. (Damp?)
Only one or two bunkers seemed to not be quarry sand, so sand shots were more luck than skill. must be a New England thing. very scenic though
Great day Fun Course
A real mountain course with only rare level lies and lots of angular roles. Great views.
August 20, 2014
The course is very well maintained. The scenery is beautiful maintains and azure blue skies. We had a foursome that was assembled by the course.
It was a delightful time. I will definitely play there again.
Slow Play in the middle of the day
My daughter and I set out to play 18 holes. There was a sixsome in front of us (members) at the first tee, two women and four men. The foursome behind us was playing from the gold and red tees (I suppose that they wanted to play together). I had asked the starter if we could go out ahead of the six people playing together in front of us (no dice). We were squeezed from the foursome in back of us only to wait for the six ahead of us. When we made the turn for the tenth tee, we had two other foursomes who had just finished lunch, jump in front of us. There was nobody minding the store...we called it a day. Just a shame....
Mt. Snow golf
Great course, pretty wet when we played but great value. Looking forward to returning.
great mountain top course
great weather added to the great views. Some what hilly recommend riding. tree-lined fairways added to a very delightful day
A day well spent
The course was in the best condition I had seen it in in years. Some of the cart paths could use a bit of "pot hole" repair, however. Only one or two greens had any sign of winter burn, but the remainder were in great shape.
A day at Mount Snow Golf Course
My oldest son and myself took advantage of a great deal to play Mount Snow golf course. The weather was perfect 80 degrees with a slight breeze and abundant sunshine. We were greeted by a very friendly cart girl who took our clubs and moved our cart while we checked in.
We proceeded to the first tee and started our round, the fairways were cut low, plenty of green no browning, the course was a little damp due to the heavy rains the week before. The only problem was that the second hole which is a par 5 was a par 4 with a temp green, about 40 yards down was a temp tee box of 150 yards to the real green. Hole 2 was playing a par 4 and par 3. The third hole was closed possibly from ice and snow damage over the past winter the green was growing slowly back to maturity.
Other than that we had a great round, the greens are massive so shot selection to the greens should be precise. We played in less that 3.5 hours had the course to ourselves. We will be back.
ist time here
It was the first time that we played here, it would be nice if they had signs on each tee that shows how the hole is. That includes water, and traps,
All around greatness
Everything was wonderful, starting with the bag drop and ending with the meal in the clubhouse. Could not have asked for more friendly staff.
The 3rd green was closed but it is early in the season. If you get a chance come play.
weathered
Fairways oustanding. The long snowy winter caused green issues but they were playable.
I play there often and know greens will come back. Its a blind course for most holes so it can be frustrating..
Overall we enjoyed the round
great views
Great views of haystack and mnt snow, friendly people
Mountain course
Greens in good shape. Mountain course with some blind shots.
Beautifully maintained. Spectacular mountain setting
We enjoyed the location and setting, with Mt Snow in the background. Challenging sloped greens.
how are the greens now in July?
