Bryce Resort

About Bryce Resort
Bryce Resort is a ski and golf property located in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley about 110 miles from Washington D.C. There is no official lodging for the resort, which relies on directing visitors to a handful of area accommodation partners from hotel rooms to villas and cabin rentals. Golfers can play 18 holes on the mountain course which dates back to the 1960s. Lake Laura is a popular attraction after golf in the summertime and has kayak and paddleboard rentals. There are three restaurants located at Bryce Resort including a top-of-the mountain option.Facts

Worth it
If you are looking to take a day trip. This is the spot! The ride in is fantastic views for days. The old air strip is really cool. The pro shop building is new. The carts are new and in good shape. Driving range is down the road from the course and pro shop. You will see it when you pull in. Putting green before number 1 is pure. Collectively great group of par 5s. Grass throughout the course. Greens are really great. Smooth with trickle. (Please fix your ball marks). Tee boxes are above average. This course has its friendly tee shots. It also has its placement tee shots as well. Overall the course is a great experience for all skill levels. If you control your ball you will love this course
Good times
This is a couse that you must see and play. Every holes is well placed except 16.
Sweet hidden track
Super unique layout and mildly challenging given the relatively short distance from the blue tees. Well kept.
Beautiful course, friendly staff
If you’re ever out in the Valley looking for a day of golf, this is the place for you. The course is very well maintained and the scenic views are one of a kind. Chris at the pro shop is very friendly, and even went out of his way to make sure I purchased the correct size golf glove. He is very knowledgeable with the game of golf and is always excited to set you up with a tee time. By far the best course in the valley.
My annual golf trip!
I visit here once a year to visit family and play three straight days every August. Such a fun, fun course! The people are nice. The holes are so interesting and enjoyable. The value is amazing! Can’t say enough about this Gem!
The PAR
Absolutely good course. Excellent condition from teeto greens. Very playablle layout. Excellent staff. Enjoyed every moment of the round.
Unbeatable Price and Course Condition
Bryce Resort has quickly become one of my favorite courses to play in Virginia. It offers an interesting and fun layout that gets better as you learn the odds and ends of how to play the course. Too many courses, especially those in Northern Virginia feel like they have too many boring Par 4s that you can take the exact same approach on. Bryce offers a variety of doglegs, water hazards, and changes in elevation that forces you to use your entire bag. Each time I think I've mastered how I approach playing a hole I find new and different ways to enjoy playing it.
The staff and greenskeepers keep this course looking beautiful from March through the Fall, even after the heavy rain heading into July 4th weekend they were still able to get the course in fantastic shape. The staff is always kind and accommodating and every time I play I feel that they add to an already wonderful experience. For the price and top notch condition of the course, its hard to find a better deal than playing at Bryce Resort.
Great course
This was a great course to play. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The only change I would make is to switch from Pepsi to Coke products. Then it would be near perfect.
Awesome Day of Golf
Course is well kept! Excellent conditions .Course pace was perfect! Greens were top notch.
Don’t go hungry
Golf course was great, but two hotdogs at the turn was $11.25.
Mountains and water
We played this course while visiting the area. Absolutely beautiful course, with 2 very different 9’s. Front was a little more open with water or creek on most holes and back 9 was much tighter. But both sides were very well maintained and greens rolled quick but good. Only complaint is the driving range is about a mile drive down the road. So you have to get your tokens then drive your vehicle down to the range, but it is a nice practice area once you get there. Overall a very beautiful course in a valley with Mountain View’s all around.
Hidden Gem in the Shenandoah
Absolutely love Bryce! Great conditions and very scenic. Nestled in a valley, it immediately gives you a full mountain resort vibe as you pass the ski slope and a little airport/airstrip during the round.
Bryce is not an extremely difficult course, but don't let the length or Rating/Slope fool you, it's no cakewalk! There's not very much water on the course, but just about every fairway is ligned with trees, so accuracy is imperative. The front nine is very flat and easily walkable, but the back nine is fairly hilly, and the front and back nine are split by the clubhouse/ski slope, so I'd recommend a cart for 18 holes.
My favorite hole is the Par 3 11th, where the background of the tee box is an airstrip, and if you're lucky a plane may be taking off/landing while your teeing off!
The course was an amazing shape, every green was perfect, every tea box was in very good shape, the fairways, the rough… all very well well-maintained. it was the first time playing Bryce for everybody in my group, and we all thought it was on par with most of the private clubs in our area.
We will definitely come back and play again soon.
Recommend this course on week days. Half the price and not many people playing. Forgiving fairways.
