Carson Hot Springs Golf Resort & Spa
About Carson Hot Springs Golf Resort & Spa
The Carson Hot Springs Golf Resort & Spa in the Columbia River Gorge features a historic hotel completed in 1901, as well as cabins and a bathhouse added in 1923. The bathhouse offers a traditional experience with clawfoot tubs and vintage stylings. Mineral water is pumped directly into the tubs for an all-natural, healing bath, which can followed by a linen wrap and massage. There’s a restaurant at the resort and another one inside the clubhouse of the Elk Ridge Golf Course, a 6,461-yard layout dating to 2006. The outdoor pursuits of the region – hiking, biking, wineries and horseback riding – are at your fingertips.Facts

Elk Ridge
Course is in excellent condition. Greens ok, not quite as good as course. Needs water on the course!
First time
Very nice course
Problems booking on line
Not a easy course to work with when booking
Worth the drive
Good variety of holes with breath taking scenery and some well designed holes with narrow fairways. The greens are young and thin but putt well. Might want to check the wind report before heading out. Fun for all levels some short par 3's. Not too bad of a walk. Good time!
Memorial Day Weekend 2014
The high turf quality makes the ball sit up, allowing for smooth sweeping ball contact, which translates into good, controlled golf shots.
better than expected
Great views! Fairways are rock hard and run out well. Greens are immense with challenging slopes bumps and rolling tiers.
This course worth the drive
This course had been closed for a while but they have done a lot of work to make it nice. It is worth the drive from Portland and Vancouver areas. We walked the course which will give you a good work out. Several holes up and down hills. Clubhouse is still a work in progress but getting better all the time. Manager was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the beautiful day and the view is fantastic (expect some east wind action). Have already recommended this course to friends and will bring visiting family from out of town later in the year to play.
Review is for this one round
Back side closed, more sand on green then in bunker and since no one on course there was no food after round.
Should have reduced rate during this time every course goes through.
One of the better layouts in the portland area
This course is a hidden gem and a bargain to play. The new owners have greatly improved the condition of the course and the bent grass greens will be fantastic when they mature this summer. The greens were built to USGA specs and are spacious with many levels for different pin placements. The course is visually stunning surrounded by nearby mountains, and is one of the prettiest courses in all of the northwest.
From the tips this course is no slouch at par 70 and the wind is almost always a factor. It plays entirely different when the prevailing west winds turn east. My only complaint, and it is small, is that some holes seem repetitive with the uphill, downhill, back and forth layout.
To me this course reminds me of Langdon Farms, but better, and much more scenic.
Much Improved
A good golf experience. Still needs some work if it is going to be considered a resort course. Some missing t-box signs. On course restrooms need improvement.
Scott
Elk Ridge is in the best shape I have ever seen. I played this course back when it was the Carson Hot Springs golf course. An amazing transformation is taking place here.
Give it a try and you won't regret it now. If there is going to be strong wind you might want to wait for a calmer day. This course is very prone to wind!! Makes for a rough day in more ways than one...
Glad I made the trip guy!
It was my first first trip to Elk Ridge, and it was a wonderful experience. From the club house to its staff, food, scenery, and defenently the course. The layout was well designed and the greens very challlenging. I highly recomend this course.
Drop dead beauty in the Columbia Gorge
If you want to experience the Northwest in all it's glory, play this course in Carson, Wa!
This course has recently been remade into a fabulous 18 hole course from an older 9 hole course.
It has a Scottish links style feel to it with incredible views of mountains and forests.
The course layout is fair, the fairways and tees are awesome, and the grasses surrounding the course will steal your stray balls.
My only complaint about this course that keeps it from being a total 5 star on conditions is that the greens are slower than they could be.
Hidden Gem of the year
I knew nothing about this course when I arrived and boy did I leave impressed. This is absolutely one of the best $50 and under courses I've played lately. Great, dry conditions and panoramic views at every turn.
No crowds, great drainage, incredible views of the gorge
This course is a fun course to play, the greens are massive and the drainage is so good I think you could play this course year round. You have to keep the ball in the fairway if you want a good score, if you get into the tall rough your in serious trouble. A great value and a must play course.
A gem!
A links style course with views of the gorge. What could be better?
Scenic, and challenging
Course is tucked in the middle of the Columbia Gorge with mountains all around. The course recently had an excellent remodel, and is well worth the visit. Plays longer than it's yardage, we played the blues at about 6,000 yards and it was plenty challenging. Lots of high grass so hit it straight, but then rewarded with iron shots to large undulating greens (these were a blast). Winds were light when we played but gorge winds could make this course wicked. One of the best remodeled courses I have seen. Course was in the kind of shape a links style course should be, great greens, excellent fairways and tough rough.
Worth the drive from Portland.
I've made the hour drive there and back many times now. Well worth the time, money, and effort to play this course. Weekday golfnow.com prices always under $20. Fantastic views and elevation changes. Well contoured greens and bunkers and fairway lies are like the ball is teed up. Again, very nice. Add this gem to your must play list.
The Views are great
One of my favorite get aways. The course and staff are great with challenges waiting on every hole
Thrilled to have this course back in play
I played this course 15 years ago when named Carson GC. It was tough on clubs with the gravel under the fairways. And not a place that I would frequent, BUT NOW, new owners, after 11 years of being closed, have turned this course into a real gem. Beautiful fairways, manicured sand traps and huge undulating greens, with vistas that will blow your mind (and could slow your rate of play). If I had to be critical of the course in any way it is concerning the grass hazards. These tall grass hazards might just as well be ponds as you are not going to find your ball, and they can come into play on every hole. If they were the only hazard then okay, but surrounding them is 6" grass that your ball hides in to make even a drop from the hazard a problem. If you find your ball in the hazard be careful, you can hurt yourself swinging in there. I suggest no more than 3" first cut around these to make a recovery shot more likely.
Great Value for the money
You're going to be hard pressed to find a nicer course than this for what you pay. Course was in amazing shape and the pace of play was great as well. Definitely added to the favorites in SW Washington!
The ground is rock hard. I played this course over the winter and there are a lot of rocks under that turf. I actually ruined one of my favorite clubs from hitting a shot out of the fairway.
