About Carson Hot Springs Golf Resort & Spa
The Carson Hot Springs Golf Resort & Spa in the Columbia River Gorge features a historic hotel completed in 1901, as well as cabins and a bathhouse added in 1923. The bathhouse offers a traditional experience with clawfoot tubs and vintage stylings. Mineral water is pumped directly into the tubs for an all-natural, healing bath, which can followed by a linen wrap and massage. There’s a restaurant at the resort and another one inside the clubhouse of the Elk Ridge Golf Course, a 6,461-yard layout dating to 2006. The outdoor pursuits of the region – hiking, biking, wineries and horseback riding – are at your fingertips.Facts

Well maintained, beautiful surroundings.
The new owners have done a great job with this course. They have gotten the conditions back to a state where one can play the course and have an interesting round. The course isn't long but the tall grass narrows the fairways so that one cannot just pull out the driver and bang away. Unfortunately this can lead to searching for balls if your golf shots are errant. The greens have a lot of slope in them making no easy two putt situations. A couple of the greens are too excessive, in my opinion. The location itself makes this course a must play, being located in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge.
We LOVE Elk Ridge!
Elk Ridge is a beautifully kept course with pristine courses and BEAUTIFUL SETTING! I am an avid golfer and my girlfriend is learning, Elk Ridge is challenging for me but perfect for her to learn!
This course is very weel maintained and the views of the Columbia Gorge was spectacular.
Put your driver away because this course plays narrow fairways and the short rough will hide your ball well.
This was a great day of golfing
Really did like this course people were very friendly fairways and greens were In very good shape game moved along very nicely.
Fun Challenge
Course is in fabulous shape and each hole is a different challenge. Beautiful undulating greens.
hidden gem in Columbia Gorge
What a fantastic golf course! Fairly short, very scenic, punitive grass (don't even look, if you hit in the fescue it is gone) and fantastic, huge, very undulating greens. the greens were firm and true, one of the best maintained courses I have played this year (probably helps that they don't get a ton of play). Great people, fantastic deck, I will definitely be back.
Thanks Elk Ridge!
Hidden Gem
Course was in great shape. Green were a little slow. But this is truly a must play course. Yeah some don't like the tall grass, but its not ridiculous just keep the ball in play :). Will defiantly go back!!!!
Course is much improved!
I played this course over five years ago and the course is amazing by comparison today! While not "pristine," it is very well taken care of. In particular, the greens are much nicer. Watch out for the long grass! I lost four balls in 9 holes. I played the back nine and was disappointed that there were no "true" par 5's. The holes are a bit short, but the views are stunning! I like the proximity to Carson Hot Springs where my wife can soak in a tub and get a massage while I enjoy my time out on the "links." I enjoyed a great afternoon and plan to go back.
Great views
Desk was very friendly , course was in excellant shape,
Fairways are a bit narrow at times with tall grass off the fairway
translation lost several balls, keep the driver in the bag on llots of holes
Beautiful day in the gorge. Greens were fast, firm and challenging.
Wow. Diamond in the rough We will definitely return.
THE COURSE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE
I REALLY ENJOYED PLAYING THIS COURSE. IT'S RIGHT DOWN THE HIGHWAY FROM WHERE I LIVE AND THE COURSE IS WELL MAINTAINED AND IN GREAT CONDITION. I PLAN ON PLAYING THIS COURSE ON A REGULAR BASIS BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION AND THE CONDITION AND THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY. IT'S A GREAT COURSE AND REASONABLY PRICED!
Very Nice...
When I pulled in to the parking lot the first impression I had was that it was a links style course. The course is very well maintained. The greens are large and smooth. The best conditioned greens I have seen this year. The fairways are mostly framed with three foot long grass. The ball gobbling kind of grass.
A great but undiscovered course.
Elk Ridge is a great place to play. The scenery is fantastic from every hole. The course is relatively short from the white tees but challenging. It looks wide open but if you hit into the tall grass off the fairway you will likely incur a penalty. The greens are some of the best I have ever played on. They are all very large and tricky to put on which is half the fun. The greens are in fantastic condition, as is the rest of the course.
It is also a great to place to play in the rainy season as it plays very dry.
Good but tough course
Played this course over the weekend. Course is in good shape but the rough is a bit much. Bring plenty of golf balls because if you go in the tall grass you will not find it, take this seriously, you will not find it. I tend to push the ball a bit on my drives, this coupled with the wind that day made it extremely difficult to find the fairway. Other than the tall rough the course is a great layout, the views are awesome and the staff is fantastic.
Good, but cut the grass.
I liked the course, but please cut the tall grass so a person can at least find their ball. Even in the British Open the grass was tall, but they could find their ball. If you do not cut the grass this will hurt repeat business.
Beautiful dunes course with high grass that eats up errors.
The course is really beautiful and fun to play. Set in the gorge there are scenic views an most all holes. The course is not too long buy required accurate shots as any ball in the tall grass is gone. Wind in the later afternoon make the course more difficult. I will go back because the course provides a great fun experience.
With the rough grown in, it looks like a links course and it is GREAT!!!
Absolutely a great course, six months ago it was so, so but with the rough grown in, it now has real PERSONALITY and was just a blast to play. The course is in GREAT shape and the large greens are really good. And I mean to say BIG greens. Since all the flags are white, it is tough to figure accurate distances to the pin, BUT after talking to the pro shop, they have said they are planning PIN sheets to give better yardage. Now I am a real Skamania fan but this course is going to give Skamania a real run for the money. All four guys felt as I did that this is a course to be played again and again. I really did not want to give a great report on this tract, because I wanted it to be available when I wanted to play, but the truth is it was well worth the trip from Washougal to play this amazing transformation of a golf course. Great staff, great course and the food bar is open so they now have the complete package and I can't wait till I get to play there again. I say go play there, be transfixed by the all around beauty of the location, and I really believe you will want to play there again and again.
Beautiful and Enjoyable Golf Experience!
This course is exceptional in its beauty and in the way it is maintained. Fairways and greens are in excellent condition and the scenery in the middle of the Columbia River Gorge is spectacular. Narrow fairways with tall grass surrounding force golfers to be accurate and shoot straight. Any ball hit into tall grass is lost. There are also over 40 sand trap hazards on the course which often make for narrow approaches. Had a great time playing this course!
A short but challenging course.
This is a beautiful course, not just the fantastic Gorge scenery but the course itself is beautiful. The sawgrass on every hole makes you hit your target or loose a ball. If you want to learn to read greens this is the place. Fun round!
Pristine conditions...........Front 9 had very challenging greens. Not an easy course to walk because of slope and distance between greens.
Beautiful Columbia Gorge Mountain Views help to curb one's frustrations with the many islands of tall grass that seem to swallow golf balls. Narrow fairways were challenging. Equally challenging was the lack of drinking fountains in the clubhouse and on the lovely golf course, especially on a day with temperatures approaching the mid-nineties. Human needs were also lacking on the back 9 with no restrooms in sight.
Our Gresham 4-some enjoyed the challenging course, but found it lacking in creature comforts which could lead to safety concerns. Nearby Skamania GC offers more shade on a hot day with their mature trees and plenty of restrooms and drinking fountains throughout the course.
