Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort
About Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort
Located a short ferry ride from Seattle on the Kitsap Peninsula, the Clearwater Casino Resort, owned by the Suquamish Tribe, is more than just a waterfront casino. It has the amenities for a wedding, work conference, golf getaway or a relaxing vacation. The 183-room resort features a spa, six restaurants, four bars, an event lawn, indoor zero-entry pool, beach access and the excitement of casino nightlife that offers table games, slots, keno and much more. The tribe purchased the White Horse Golf Course, located 11 miles away in Kingston, in 2010 and made immediate improvements. A new clubhouse was added and local architect John Harbottle brought in to make the course more playable.Facts

A must play every time I'm in the Seattle area.
Just a great course with a friendly staff and a nice practice area. It is a wonderful course to walk but there is some distance between some of the holes. The course runs thru a forest so it has a nice quiet feel. Seeing deer on the fairways and a bald eagle in the sky was a extra treat, Pick the right tees to play or it could be a long day. Very nice greens, firm and fast with some undulations. Coarse gray sand in the bunkers may not be for everyone.
great golf day
I'm glad we didn't walk...very hilly. Great course though.
great use of a dense forest
We were asked to pick up play and keep up with group in front of us which was a twosome and we were a foursome. We played in four hours which is very reasonable. It seems like there was a twilight behind us and they were just trying to get up out of the way. Unfortunate and uncomfortable for us.
Beautiful Setting, Challenging Course, especially the greens
Went on the ferry as a 'Walk-On' where the shuttle met the wife and I. New Clubhouse - Nice! Very friendly staff and the course was in great shape. The greens are very difficult - very hard and the speed varied on holes.. the undulations made for tough putting as well. Play got measurably slower on the back side. Great shape even with all the play - tee boxes well maintained too.
Would play here again - beautiful setting and great staff with very challenging holes. I played from the Black tees.
Excellent course & value
Beautiful course. Fairways were exceptionally green but wet. The course was evidentlly well watered as there was standing water in areas, Some ot the tee boxes were very slippery. It was sprinkling butnthis was more water than that could have caused. Even through the wet conditions it was a great round of golf, will gladly play again.
Excellent, tough course, especially for first-timers.
Wonderful course design, very good condition, with fast, true greens. The design gives the feeling that you are nearly alone on the course. Some blind tee shots add difficulty for the first-timer. Few level lies. Greens are often elevated or depressed from the tee/fairway. To score well, it is important to miss shots in the right place. Take a cart; there are some long rides from green to tee. I would play White Horse again in a heartbeat - and hopefully score better!
Nice course providing a good challenge
The course is beautiful and almost everyone is very friendly (the exception being the guys in the pro shop that act like you are putting them out by being there). The bar and restaurant have good selection, good quality, and very friendly service. The new clubhouse is a great improvement. The practice area is great with real grass on the driving range. Pace of play was very good on my recent visit - this has been a big problem in previous years where a weekend round could easily take 6 hours. There was a starter on the number one tee this time and he did a good job of spacing groups which made the pace of play very good. The sand that they use in their bunkers is poor quality for a course that otherwise seems well groomed - it would be nice if they would get better quality sand for the traps. They also have very few water dispensers on the course and they are equipped with pumps that make getting water unnecessarily difficult - it would be an improvement if they would just use water dispensers that have push-button taps like almost every other course in the world.
Challenging course
I have played this course several times over the last few years, despite removing a great number of bunkers, there are not many flat landing areas. This course is an ideal calling round for GPS allowing for yardages off the tee!
Uneven lies - extra firm greens
Beautiful setting with a new clubhouse overlooking the 18th green. Seldom found a level lie even in the center of the fairways. Uphill, downhill, and side hill was the order of the day. The greens were not particularly fast but the pins this day were not very accessible and unless the ball was falling straight down we could not hold the greens. A good course that requires you bring your best game to score well. I think it will take me a few rounds to manage my way around the course.
Challenging and scenic course.
I feel like I stole something after getting the $27 w/ cart deal on a weekend. A bald eagle literally flew across the 18th fairway from the right side, swooped down and tagged a fish in the pond on the left. That bird was bigger than my cart!
Aside from that awesome golf moment, this course was a notch or two more difficult than many other courses in the area. I thought it was a Pete Dye design, but another site said it's his grand daughter's design. Regardless, the greens are incredibly challenging. Bring your "Tiger vision" putting.
Shot shaping and accuracy are required. Bunkers lurk near the fairways on many holes. A few holes require big drivers to even have a chance at par.
If you're looking for a test of golf on a beautiful course in the PNW, play White Horse.
Great Course
Very challenging, have played many times. They have made some nice upgrades in the last year, new clubhouse and paved the parking area. Well worth the trip!
Course is beautiful with great new clubhouse. That stated, too many trees and narrow fairways!!
Unless you can really control your ball with every shot this course is very challenging and frustrating. Great shape and beautiful spot, but wouldn't recommend for golfers who spray the ball a bit.
Course is slipping greatly!!
The clubhouse is nice, the pro shop is small and needs more of a selection of golf balls. We all don't use Titleist. I have golfed this course several times a year for the past 5yrs and with the new ownership, new problems. The marshals drive around and do nothing, they are very unfriendly and worthless. I recently played a round on July 3rd, great weather, great day for golf. There was a foursome two groups a head that slowed the entire course down, took 5 1/2hrs to complete our round. We asked the "marshal " several times to do something and he could have cared less. The halfway house was closed and there was no drink cart out until 1pm (we teed off at 1030) . Sadly this has become an everyday occurence lately. The dress code also seems to have disappeared. We saw several people wearing jeans and cutoffs. Sadly it seems new ownership has hurt this once great course.
Fun and challenging course.
High heat predictions caused most golfers to stay home. So lucky for me, the course was deserted. Finished the round in a little over 2 hours! Fairways and greens were in excellent condition, and the new clubhouse is great. Highly recommended!
Challenging course that is well maintained.
The new clubhouse is beautiful. Course conditions were very good. Pace of play (Friday - full course) was good. The course is very pretty. Marshalls kept things moving and were very friendly as were the starters. Clubhouse food is really good - great selections.
Beautiful course, but watch that back 9
After 6 holes I was playing one of the best rounds of my life, however by the time I finished I felt like I went through a meat grinder. This is a truly beautiful course that I felt got progressively harder. The back 9 was a real challenge, but I'll be back. The only negative was the club house prices;way too high!
nice course... terrible pace of play
Course is really nice; great mix of holes. The most disappointing thing was the pace of play. No starter and the first twosome took five hours to play, which of course backed everyone else up. Pace did pick up on the back 9.
Challenging Greens
Great course hidden in the trees. Verry easy to get to once you go over the 20 minute ferry ride, they have a shuttle waiting for you if you call ahead. The course was well maintained and pretty difficult, definetely a good challenge and I will go again.
Pick up pace of play. Course is in excellent condition. Beautiful clubhouse!
Pace of play was slow, no Marshall's on this day. Course is in great condition! Beautiful new clubhouse.
White Horse is one of our favorite courses on the Olympic Peninsula
Thank you to the guys in the pro shop for fitting us in, after we had problems with our Tee Time Reservations..on Fathers' Day Too! We love the new club house, the course in challenging and fun with such a beautiful setting. Can't wait to play it again. Thank you for a great Fathers' Day of Golf.
