White Horse Golf Club has one of the toughest courses in the Northwest. Situated on the Kitsap Peninsula, the course is located just five minutes south of the Kingston ferry terminal. The course sits on the Puget Sound between the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, offering panoramic views on every hole. When the Suquamish Tribe bought the club in 2010, one of their top priorities was to make the course more playable. They enlisted John Harbottle for the job, a local architect who has designed several layouts throughout the state. By taking out nearly half of the bunkers, he opened up the greens and made them more approachable. He also widened the fairways and made the landing areas more generous. Since the update, White Horse Golf Club has become one of the most popular on the peninsula.

Nicest course in county

Booking was easy, and check-in was efficient with friendly staff. We stopped by the bar before teeing off, and the bartenders were great, friendly, attentive, and knew how to make a solid drink to start the day right.

We teed off on time, which was appreciated. The only downside was pace of play. We ended up behind a foursome that had us about 11 minutes behind by the second hole, and the delay ranged from 11 to 22 minutes throughout the round. At times it felt backed up enough that the groups behind us may have assumed we were the cause, which took away from the flow a bit.

That said, the course itself is absolutely beautiful and kept in pristine condition. The holes are challenging in a fun way, and the par 3s are no joke. It’s the kind of course that tests your game while still being very enjoyable.

Overall, it made for an excellent day on a truly beautiful course. Memories are made every visit, and we’ll absolutely be back.

Bad Service - Tee Time Mgmt

Prepaid using the golfnow app. Got to course, gave name and tee time, purchased range balls and pushcart and warmed up. Went to box for my tee time and there was a foursome ready to go, and a foursome ahead of them. Called pro shop and he stated that I missed my tee time at 12:42 vs the one I have confirmed of 12:51 - catch up to the single who went off at 12:42 which was also false. Walked ahead and saw only foursomes, ended up not playing 1 and 2, following a foursome taking their time and not caring I was behind them. No apology from the pro shop, nothing but feeling like I screwed up even though I checked in and confirmed 12:51. Good course, nice setting, bad service and support.

Making money in my backyard

Whitehorse is a beautiful golf course, highly recommended! … but a warning! locals treat the bunkers like petulant children, I believe the local legend is there is a virus on the handles of the rakes ! (The bunkers are horrible!) footprints 👣 EVERYWHERE!! Beware of the Bunkers !!!!

Great Course

Joined a threesome of members at this course. First time I played here. They were wonderful to play with and helpful in understanding what the holes challenges were. Course is challenging and long. Greens sometimes were hard to hold due to the terrain. Overall a great course that I would play again. Long walk. Over 7 miles to play 18.

Challenging, well kept course

Designed by Pete Dye's daughter, to this is a tough course that requires planning to get around to scoring chances. Spaces between holes can be quite long so prepare for the walk from green to the next tee box, golf cart highly recommended. Cart includes GPS and green reads.

The restaurant is fantastic and the food is quite good. Highly recommend you try something from the kitchen. There's also a dispensary in the pro shop, which is quite rare. Plenty of parking spaces, practice areas are very well kept. Highly recommend visiting, it's one of the PNW gems. Bring and extra sleeve or two.

Winter round

Normally this is an immaculate course, but with all the wet weather we are having the course was in my opinion not playable. Very muddy course conditions and greens were extremely slow ( understandable).

Excellent course and worth the trip

The course was in great condition. The approach shots were designed to be challenging, surrounded by deep sand traps and with changes in elevation. The greens were in excellent shape, as well.

Very Slow Round...

We had a drunk 4 some two ahead of us with a single between and the 4 some trying to stop and teach the single how to play golf. Pace of play was over 25 minutes behind. Did not see a marshal ever even though the carts were yelling at everyone to speed up play. The course is gorgeous and difficult.
