Great course
Drove 7 hours to play with my brother what a blast this was caddy was great
Old White Course/ Greenbrier
The experience of playing the Old White is always a great treat! And GolfPass makes it a great deal as well! The experience of acquiring rounds thru Golf Pass were incredibly easy and that accessibility makes Golf Pass and great golf courses the way to play!!!
Wonderful experience
Very friendly
Beautiful grounds
Great golf course
Old white
Course best condition I’ve seen it. Our caddie Cuz is the man. If book a time here in summer months deff ask for him
Great deal
If you can get this course for under a hundred bucks take but be aware you have to have a forecaddy and pay him but ours was very helpful and funny
Play it once, if you are willing to pay for the privilege
Was staying at the Greenbrier resort for wife's birthday celebration and played both the Old White & Meadows course.
Pros: Beautiful and challenging course originally designed by C.B. McDonald. Immaculate condition, great forecaddie (Billy). But man, those greens are fast. Also, may be the only public access ("access" being relative, see con below), McDonald course. I think the others are private.
Con: Eye watering green fee. Stated summer rate for resort guests is $475 but they hit you with all sorts of extra fees so that my total was about $540. Yikes!
Deal of a lifetime
Scrolling on my phone early Saturday morning I logged into my GolfNow App and began to search for tee times for Sunday morning hoping to see the course we originally planned to play had put up a Hot Deal to save us some money. What I found was a deal too good to be true. A round for 4 at The Greenbrier for 46 dollars per player at 9:36am Sunday the 18th. I quickly contacted my golf group to see if they were ok switching up our plans. I booked the tee time and after discounts it ended up being 41.50 per player. Cart and range included. This is a course that is generally 300 plus to play!!!! HUGE savings and great experience. Our Forecaddie A-Rod was great and friendly. His knowledge of the course was unreal. Best deal I have ever found on GofNow App by a longshot. Whoever decided to set that price, Thank you! We had an absolute blast. What a fantastic Fathers day for my group. Thank you Greenbrier staff and thank your GofNow.
Crisp and Clean
The course was in great shape. All the cuts were very precise with a great clean and neat look. I like that the course is right in front of you but still requires you to make the shots.
Greenbrier-Meadows 5/14/23
Perfect condtions on Mother's Day 2023. 72 degress. Partly Cloud.
We had one twosome of members play through us, but otherwise saw no other golfers on the course.
Tees and fairways were in great shape. Greens were average, appearing to have been aerated within 4-5 weeks, I would guess. Rough was high and, along with the stacked sod bunkers, clearly the course's defense.
This would be a great course to enjoy and play if you didn't have the $300 green fee in the back of your mind. It's just not anything special beyond a $100 semi-private course you would play back home. The starter and clubhouse attendent were very friendly and helpful, but beyond a handful of tees and cheap ballmarkers, The Greenbrier does not present itself as a top notch resort course. No towell in the cart, etc.
I had a great time and wonderful experience on a golf treasure. I was a bit surprised by the forecaddie requirements with the extra fee. The greens ?
Paired with three people was awkward, but expected.
Simply amazing
THE BEST OF EVERYTHING- VIVA WEST BY GOD & THE OLD WHITE
A must Play
THE GREENBRIER Old White Course, WOW what a treat to play. This is the 2nd time I have had an opportunity to play the course. The course was in great condition from tee to green. The ENTIRE staff from bag drop to proshop, cart area, caddie master, starter, beverage cart attendant were all very accommodating. "Benny" was our fore caddy and he was EXCEPTIONAL!
This is a must play course, at least once in a life time. It is so picturesque and beautifully landscaped with such brilliantly colored flowers. Sometimes I caught myself just looking at the beautiful homes and exceptionally manicured lawns surrounding the course. Did I mention the abundance of wildlife including soaring Eagles, deer and other indigenous animals.
There is a lot of golf history associated with the Greenbrier and it is documented throughout the club house and course with photos, written stories and plaques.
Treat yourself, visit the Greenbrier, enjoy a challenging yet playable course!
A Restored MacDonald Raynor Gem
Most of the C. B. MacDonald and Seth Raynor courses are ultra private and quite difficult to gain access; thus, I had always wanted to Kmart Old White. The wait and effort to finally get her was worth the wait.
Course has most of the course designers famous template holes from short, Biarritz, Alps, Redan, etc.
This is a must play course for any Golden Age of course design fan.
Addendum to my course reviw: Just went over bill from resort. 2 Hot Dogs, 2 Beers, 1 Double Mixed Drink: $127!!!!!!
Shameful.
