About Pipestem Resort State Park
The Pipestem Resort State Park sits on the east rim of the Bluestone River Gorge, offering exciting outdoor fun from zipline tours, fishing trips, mountain biking and rock climbing to golf, kayaking, hiking and whitewater rafting. The 4,050-acre park features 26 cabins, camp sites and two lodges, one of which can only be accessed by riding the park's aerial tramway to the bottom of the gorge. Geoffrey Cornish designed the regulation 18 and the nine-hole par 3. Children will love the Splash Park and Adventure Lake and the Aerial Adventures ropes course in summer.Facts

once again stellar
my favorite wv course. i usually get to play there once a year. on Friday morning i teed off first as the sun rose to a gorgeous fairway drive. the course is really in wonderful shape and the greens rolled true at a medium pace. nice change from many courses that just want to see how fast the greens can go sometimes. shot an 82 from the yellows. take two extra clubs on 18 approach...don't make my mistake...that was my only double.
Surprising
Very well maintained for a state park course. I was very pleased with the course and the value for they money.
Hidden Gem
Played Pipestem for the first time, it's a hidden gem.
This was my first course in West Virginia giving me 32 States I've played in.
I'd love to play it in summer when it's at peak conditions.
Very good layout
First time playing, will come back.
Can’t wait to play it in the summer.
Honest Review
This course is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you will get. Very inconsistent. They do not like to use water when needed, that is a certainty. They have many workers for such a small outcome. The last time I played I saw 4 workers inside and around 10 outside for the course to be in such poor condition. The hitting surface on the range is laughable. Tee boxes are in rough shape, greens were hard as a rock and turning brown/cracking apart. If you happen to catch it right after some rain and they have mowed the greens, then it is playable at least. Also, food option at the course is limited to a vending machine and the pro shop has sewer smell.
The best public course in southern WV by far
The course conditions were very good, greens were appropriately fast, fairways and rough in good shape. I read some reviews from summer that said the course was burned up, this is not the case now in early fall. I was able to walk on and get a tee time on a Saturday and the pace of play was fine. No real waiting to speak of. Great deal and the views (esp. from 17) are unbeatable. Recommend highly.
Pipestem
Love the course but it was in rough shape and play was slow.
Pace of play
We where behind 12 ppl playing best ball and it took us 6 hours to play 18 holes it was awful Marshall rode out and did nothing
Pipestem
Course was burnt up! The Mohave Desert has more grass than here. Course in very poor shape.
Pace of play horrible
Booked round for 11am on golf now. After three holes we are on number 4 tee box. Place over books and have no ranger or Marshall to push play! I understand slow play but we have 4 groups at the tee box with us and staff refuse to do anything!
Comfy
Ive always enjoyed this course.Usually laid back and full.of wildlife.
Was a little pricey imo for what it is. Also cost more than what the golf now app said it would be. Cute fun little course but I believe it is overpriced.
