Eighteen Hole Regulation at Pipestem State Park Resort

Very playable track, nice layout with great greens!

Downside is the fairways were a little discolored and patchy - definitely not pristine condition - also many bunkers need new sand and tee boxes are really hard pan and beat up… but I still loved it!!

I was hoping for more mountain views of the surrounding hills and valleys and you do get a great view out from the tee on 17!!

Bar was closed so that was a bummer - but still was well worth the hot tee time price on Golf Now - which was considerably lower than the price being offered at the course!

I love this course, green’s are always in good shape, fairways tend to get hard closer to Fall. Chad at front desk is very helpful all around great guy, overall great course!

Two sets of foursomes were playing in front of me VERY slow and never offered for me or the two other teams behind me to play through. That would have cut an hour out of my time! Nothing against the club just the members playing slow!

Sights were great and weather was good. No rush on the course but the ground was very hard on almost every tee box. We will definitely return again

If the State of WV put the money in this course that it deserves they would actually have a top notch championship course. As is, they do the best they can with what they have to work with. That being said, the layout is excellent and the greens are rolling really well and in good shape. The fairways are mostly good but could improve, especially on the back 9. A big improvement from last year! The course is long enough to be challenging but not overwhelming, just don't play from the back tees if you are a 25 handicap!

Pipestem golf course is well maintained. Deer are seen often on the course. Friendly staff. Pipestem is one of my favorite golf courses. Highly recommend the course.

Nice stare park course. Pretty state park in very rural setting.

Played on a Thursday,10:52 tee time. Pace of play was exactly as we like it. Steady,but not rushed. Never had to wait on a tee box. What a beautiful course!! And it’s not accidental. They were working all over the course, very respectfully waiting on golfers and not interfering with pace of play. Everyone from the pro shop,to the maintenance guys were extremely friendly and accommodating. The greens had been aerated a week before we played,(they warned us ahead of time) but we were still able to putt on them with no trouble,they have really worked on them to keep them playable. I will definitely be back it was a great experience all around

The greens were just aerated, and I was able to play 18 holes for $25. Well worth the cost, this is a nice course with a range and putting area.

Played this course over many yeays and try to play in early Spring or Fall. Course always in good shape and variety of tees makes it Senior Friendly. Always a good experience!

Good pace of ply good course conditions will play again

The course greens were in bad shape for the cost of playing, particularly at a State Park. The fairways were in decent condition but still not up to par with other area courses where the cost is comparable. Lastly, the young man working the desk in pro shop was rude about our time completing the round and ultimately prevented us from completing the last hole. It was not dark, and we were allowed to book a tee time for 18 holes. More importantly, we were never cautioned about our time or given any warning before this young man drove a utility vehicle down the cart path toward our group like he was a police officer responding to a crime and just wasn’t very nice about it.

I must say, I grew up playing this course, moved away and was in area for first time in 20 years. The course used to be one of the best State Parks courses in country. But my, how time has changed. Greens were horrible, looks like they were over watered and then burnt to about 65% playable. Fairways were green, but crabgrass looks great from a distance. Rough was mostly clover and I lost 4 balls that were hit down middle and hard pack fairways took them to over patches and not worth spending 15 minutes to find a ball. Sure State provides no funding but needs closed.
