Better than we expected
Beautiful day. Course was not crowded. Fairways and greens were in great shape.
Not sure what the deal was but some of the bunkers were full of black, fine gravel.
Great layout
Course has a fantastic layout challenging for all levels of players. Course is in rough shape at the moment. Lots of burnout on fairways and tee boxes.
Rain will help them greatly but don’t know how fast it will recover.
Have played here before and loved it. We will return again when the conditions are better.
Resort Mountain Course that is no longer part of the Resort
This is a really nice course. The story that I heard is that there were three courses at the resort but there were some issues and at least this one separated from the other two.
Play was a bit slow but still enjoyable. The hardest part of the day was finding the parking lot and knowing how to get to the first tee. Because of separation, there is no practice facility beyond a small putting green feet from the first tee.
Layout was extraordinary. I love mountain courses and this one did not disappoint. I could not imagine walking this course due to a least a couple of holes have room for one or more holes in between green and tee (and elevation changes)
Stupidly fun but…
Fairways and greens were dead but it was fun to play
Poor course conditions
I played this course a few months ago and it was a wonderful experience. It was unique, challenging and in great shape. Yesterday I played and it is a completely different course. A third of the fairway grass is dead and some of the greens are in rough shape. 15 in particular is dirt with a small patch of long grass in the bottom of the "halfpipe". The worst course conditions i have played and not worth the money. Greens and fairways in much worse condition than any of the municipal courses in the area. Hopefully this course comes back to life in the fall because i really enjoyed the track when it was in better shape.
One of WV’s best courses.
The fairways and greens were immaculate. The layout is fun and it feels like each hole is inviting you to hit a good shot. Not many blind shots required which is something I need and appreciate. The only bad thing about this course is that the starter shack for this particular course is not intuitive to get to. We had to hop a fence to get to it because we apparently approached it from the wrong direction. If you go, make sure you find the designated parking lot for the course. The one that is in direct view of the starter shack is not the right lot.
stonehaven
great golf course
however we had a 1:30 tee time and 3 hours later we were at hole 10.
at 4:30 we knew we couldn't finish .
Immaculate course
This course had wonderful fairways, lush lies practically everywhere. The layout was extremely challenging featuring many target golf holes. Very mentally challenging course. Missing the green makes for a tough up and down no matter where you miss. Loved the course and will play again.
Stay away
First off to start off, we went to the Cobb course at Glade Springs to use their range to warm up. They refused to sell us balls because we weren’t playing that course. There were no cars in the parking lot or players on the range. All course are located inside Glade Springs so it shouldn’t have been a problem. Being a PGA member, other courses usually take care of the round for you and help others out but not this place. I had no problem paying for my round and wanted to pay for balls but they refused to give me any at all. We got to our tee time and there was a 5some of members ahead of us that wouldn’t let us play thru. It took 3 hours and 15 minutes to play the front 9 then they left. We played the back 9 in 1 hour and 30 minutes. We don’t play fast but we hit fairways, greens, and putt so it makes us a little faster than others. A couple holes on the front had 3 groups waiting on a single hole for the 5some to finish.
