Grand Geneva Resort & Spa
About Grand Geneva Resort & Spa
The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is a sprawling 1,300-acre, AAA Four Diamond property, home to 355 rooms and 29 new villas. It's a four-season destination with the Mountain Top ski and snowboard facility and the 225-room Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark, an indoor-outdoor waterpark. Sandwiched between Milwaukee and Chicago, Grand Geneva invites city slickers to enjoy the laid-back lake life for a while. It started out as the Lake Geneva Playboy Club, part of Hugh Hefner’s empire. That chapter closed in 1981. Eventually, the property rebranded as a luxury golf resort in 1994 with fine dining and conference facilities for corporate clients. The Highlands and The Brute roll over hills and water hazards, creating distinct theaters for challenging and memorable golf. The WELL Spa + Salon, located in a separate fitness building, offers more than 65 treatments and services.Facts

Blind Shot Heaven
On course video in cart was not helpful at all. Did not know distances to any part of the course. The blind shots made this a touch round and it should not be at all.
Sam
Very difficult layout, greens very slow, course meanders around and it never feels fluid. Conditions were below average, greens were slow, most greens were elevated and short shots were penalized severely, won’t visit there again.
Perfect Conditions
The course was in amazing shape. Greens were fast but fair with pin placement. This is the nicest course in the area. Fantastic practice area.
Fun layout
A fun course which will require the use of the entire bag. The par threes offer a nice variety of length with challenging carries. If you have your driver working it will award your boldness but the subtle angles can bring wood lines into play quickly.
Many elevated tees on par fours allow for different club choices to score.
Beautiful course but it’s challenging! Lots of water and huge sand traps.
Don't come here so I can play more
Staff members were very friendly, golf carts are top notch I would compare them to TPC Scottsdale quality (as an example)
I will not go too harsh on the course conditions due to the weather that has happened throughout the week although still well maintained and a lot of beautiful scenery to the point that I forgot to take pictures lol.
Nice conditions, not worth the full price
The course conditions are great. The course design/layout itself was meh. Definitely worth it if you can get a golfnow deal under 80 dollars but wouldn’t pay more than that for a round.
Best course for the money
This was a fantastic course. It was challenging
And in great condition. Great round for the low rate.
Golf course design straight out of Mad Men
Almost every aspect of Midcentury Modern design is all the rage today, except, seemingly, golf courses. But The Brute, with its huge elliptical bunkers, enormous tilted oval greens and clever routing that uses Grand Geneva’s lovely parkland property effectively, is cool precisely because of how it leans in the opposite direction from the design trends of the 2020s.
Architect R.B. Harris’ commitment to avoiding holes of the same par whenever possible helps The Brute stay engaging, and the excellent conditioning makes playing the course less brutish than the name would suggest. And the resort and club facilities are on point, providing wonderful hangout spaces and gracious service.
