Different from your mirror bunker play.
This is an interesting idea and I can see how being wide open at address the closing somewhat at impact will increase club head speed through the sand. I would like to know what the recommendation is for follow through, should the closing continue or should the face be reopened?
You mentioned the club face turned "parallel" to the target line a couple of times. Did you perhaps mean "perpendicular"?
I think he was referring to the leading edge of the club face as being parallel to the target line
