John Montgomery explains why you want to swing through the ball, not to the ball. He also gives some great advice on how to pick a target with the driver.

Hi John, I need alot of help with my driver, not having golfed is 10 years. My problem is distance. 120 to 130 yards. About the same as my other clubs.I feel like I am not getting enough "whip" in the club upon contact. Is it my back swing? Do I need more wrist action at the end of my back swing to get more distance?
John, this lesson speaks specifically about my biggest problem in the game of golf. This problem keeps me from low 80s to high 70s.
I will invariably get 2 or 3 holes where my drive goes out of bounds or in the water, because I tend to stop my swing at the ball instead of through the ball. Thank you so much!
Where are giving instructions? I need someone, like you, to work with to solve this problem. I am in the Orlando, FL area.
A good way to learn new putting techniques.
I like your swing especially the second swing! Why don't you play on a tour! Akira
