Bryce Cope teaches a drill to shallow the club that focuses on your backswing. Rotate and establish hand depth to let the club naturally fall into the slot.

Great explanation and tips!
Thanks for the assistance. I feel that if I slide the clubhead along the grass on the take-away, it tends to get me in the right position that you are talking about. The other thing, and one that a number of people have said is "not good", is that I feel like my right shoulder needs to pull back a bit parallel to the ground. These moves help me to get the swing shallowed as you discuss here. Many thanks for the great tips.
Good reminder, even for us experienced (youth-challenged) golfers. I'm 70 years old. (HC11) I know I can get a little short /quick on the back 9 as I get fatigued on a hot day. Finishing that turn is huge!
Very good stuff Bryce! I think a lot of us amateurs need to know how to dial in the proper rotation stopping at lead shoulder over back foot, instead of all arms.
the timing on this video is super - this address the hands/rotation and the glove under the lead arm should help me cut down on the chicken wing.
Do you pull your arms down to begin the swing from top or do you just let the club drop and swing it at the bottom of the swing
How about tucking your trail elbow in sooner on your backswing in order to stay more connected? I still try to maintain a wide takeaway , but I tuck my trail elbow in on the way back. I find it helps me stay connected and not come over the top.
Very helpful!
Great tip Bryce. I tend to rock backwards when I do this. How can I stay centered over the ball? Alan
Great tip. I have lost 40 yards on trackman on driver since 2017 data. Im not getting proper rotation and sequencing. Excited to work on getting hands closer to heels at top of backswing. Hopefully that will also lead to more solid ball striking and GIR.
