Golfer Reviews
G
Great place..Great scenery . Tough greens..my buddy hit a hole in one on 7.. they didnt care.. used to be a big thing.. otherwise a great challenge to your game
Great Course
Very well maintained, staff is great, and the food and service after the round perfect. I had the Gyro.
Place looks beat up
Always a fun course to play a couple times a year at least, but the greens have been disappointing the last few times I’ve played. Not only very slow but they also were severely beaten up and not taken care of. Can tell whoever the super is just said screw it and is done trying to clean up after people who don’t repair their marks. Course gets a lot of play, so I get it, but for $75 green free you expect much better condition.
It was cart path only.
A 2-some playing behind several 4-somes when it's cart path only makes for a long miserable day on a golf course. It would have been nice to have known it was cart path only before I got in my car to drive an hour to the course.
Valley of the Eagles is Highly Recommended
The course is set up to play shorter and the greens are not as fast as the once were, but it was a good day on a great course that was in reasonably good condition.
Valley of the Eagles was a great value on Golf Now, GP+
The course was not in as good condition as it was a couple of years ago, but it was a great hot deal value.
The greens were slow and bumpy from the “tee hole “ aeration that the did previously. Apparently the did not clear the the micro punches and they were rolled into the green creating small 1/8” x 1/2” wide thin raised flat “bumps” in some areas. That was a surprise to see those on the green as Superintendent Sean would not have let that happen in the past.
The course plays considerably shorter than previously, because many of the tee locations were moved up and the score card adjusted as change to the course difficulty. Apparently, an intentional adjustment.
Horrible cart paths
This is my second time playing the course. I had hoped they would have done something with regards to the cart path conditions…they hadn’t. This course can not be considered among the best in northern Ohio with wagon roads for cart paths.
we were told we needed to play faster because “they wanted to go home” i think that’s a bit crazy considering we paid $75 a person to play the course and you allowed us to book a 12 o’clock tee time. having the marshall following and watching us on the back wasn’t comfortable either considering we had two girls in the group that are still fairly new to the game. we were out there just trying to enjoy the day and a round of golf and that really was probably one of the most unenjoyable rounds i’ve ever played.
Great course but questionable rain policy
We’ve played this course several times before and have always had excellent experiences.
The Restaurant on site is outstanding.
During our most recent round thunderstorms rolled through after eight holes of play. We were promptly issued rain checks for nine holes at that point and decided to have a We were promptly issued rain checks for nine holes at that point and decided to have an early dinner while we waited for the rain to pass. After we finished our food, we checked the radar and looked outside where the rain had tapered completely off. We asked the pro shop attendant if we could simply finish our round and return the rain passes. The guy at the pro shop did not seem particularly inclined to let us back out to finish our round and told me that he would call the boss to see if we could go out and play.
The rain lasted for about 90 minutes and we could see very little standing water on any of the holes visible from the clubhouse.
The clubhouse worker removed himself from hearing range and presumably called his boss after which he returned and told us that there were standing water on the course and since we were the only four players who would be finishing their round they were closing early at 4 PM.
There were in fact, at least three other foursomes who we spoke with on our way out to the parking lot, who are also disappointed that the course was closed and not reopened for round completion.
This leads me to suspect that the clubhouse pro shop workers were more interested in going home than letting groups finish their play for the day.
I cannot say for sure what conditions were across the entire course, but between the tone of the message and the message itself along with discussions between groups that could not finish their rounds it sure seems like we should have been able to finish the round instead of getting nine whole rain checks after finishing eight holes
Favorite Course in Ohio
I played Valley of the Eagles for the first time last weekend and was very impressed. The course is in a gorgeous setting, very well maintained and challenging while still fun. Great club house as well. I would highly recommend!
Fast Greens
The overall course was in good condition and the greens were well maintained and running fast and true.
Hidden Gem
A bit apprehensive about my review, not sure If want others to know. Great course. Always treated fantastic by the staff. I would play weekly if I lived in the area. A course where you’ll utilize every club in your bag. I can’t say enough about the staff they make you feel more than welcome.
