Brentwood Golf Club

About
Brentwood Golf Club in Grafton may not look like much at first but as one of the best values in the area, it has become a local favorite. It's a short course at 5,148 yards from the back tees, making it an excellent layout for beginners especially since there is very little sand and hardly any water. Long hitters may be disappointed at the lack of long par 4s and par 5s but more advanced players will find that it's great for a quick, casual round. It's a gentle golf course that any player can tackle with confidence but the subtly tricky greens provide some challenges. The approaches require a bit of strategy and accuracy doesn't hurt either though it's a very forgiving layout. Brentwood Golf Club's greens are also known for being in consistently good condition.

FOR BEGINNER GOLFERS, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
Very bad fairways and tee boxes at some parts, could be a fun layout but there is not enough care unfortunately. Very good for beginners, quite an open course with only 3 or so water hazards and no bunkers.
Probably the most affordable course in the area but it is also the worst taken care of. Every green has areas of dead patches. Fairways around the greens were just dirt.
Fun little course
I have played this course 5 times now. Good value. It’s a good place to take my 13 year old son. It’s on the shorter side yardage wise. The card lists it as a par 70, but realistically it’s more of a par 68 or so. Shot 42 on the front 9 and really didn’t play well at all. I’m typically a bogey golfer. Back 9 is tighter, and more heavily wooded, 2-3 shots more difficult. The par 5s are all easy pars I’d you play conservative, eagle opportunities on all if you can hit a draw with a 3 wood down the left side of the fairways. Hole 6 really should be a par 4, not 5. Numbers 8 and 16 are driveable par 4s. Greens had just been aerated and sanded. I think they’ll be real nice in a couple of weeks. Some patchy fairways, but I think the weather wasn’t the best this season as that seems to be an issue at a lot of courses in this area. It’s priced right for what it is.
So much potential
The layout of the course has so much potential, but the course conditions are just really bad. The fairways have massive dead spots in them - it seems the course hasn't been watered in forever. The greens are actually surprisingly decent.
I feel like this course has so much potential if they would just bring it up to a passable maintenance level.
Good course for the money
This course is a solid course. The pace of play can be off and overbooked sometimes. But you have plenty of opportunities for par. There’s part 34 and five it’s a very diverse course that is what I appreciate about it. And they’re starting to have live entertainment and food trucks now.
Great value
I’m not a crazy serious golfer. I enjoy golfing for fun. Brentwood is the perfect course for me. The staff is always nice, the course is solid, and the value is excellent. I highly recommend Brentwood to anyone who considers themselves a casual golfer or anyone looking for good, inexpensive golf.
Fun and Priced right
Took my 13 year old son here to play 18 holes. For the price it is a nice place to play. Yardage on the short side, Says par 70 on the card, but I’d say it’s realistically a par 67-68. But some of the holes force you to hit iron off the tee. Good beginner course. If you’re under a 20 handicap you can play from the blue tees here. 2 holes have artificial turf installed for tee boxes, it’s in a shady area so they must have bad trouble with them. It actually works, but bring some shorter tees. Overall it’s a fun course. There are a few driveable par 4s. It’s a confidence builder. Good players will have eagle opportunities. Played Sunday afterrnoon, pace of play wasn’t terrible but did have to wait on a lot of tees.
Good value
This course has improved over the years. It's fairly easy and makes for a nice confidence boost. They have a driving range and practice area for chipping which is nice. My only complaint would be two holes have mats on the tee box due to I'm assuming the shaded location. Overall, it's a fun course to work on your game.
