Ridge Top Golf Course

We golf often and are local to montville. Sometimes we book ridgetop through GolfNow, sometimes we have to call the clubhouse to reserve. Today, we booked a 1 pm and we were the group immediately after a very large event. We played 2 holes in 20 minutes, caught the event, and played the next 8 holes in 2 hours and 40 minutes before walking off because the tee box was stacked at the par 4 11th.

This was usually our go to for a reasonable local round but any time we saved by staying local was lost waiting before every single shot. There were no spots in the parking lot. The large event was having fun and spending and the course was full. I feel like they just jammed us on needlessly. I don’t even care about cost. I just wanted to golf so beware about getting caught up here for a 6 hour round. Maybe you drink a lot and hate your wife and 6 hour rounds are cool for you. Not us. We like to play a lot and if you’re like us, avoid this place, at least on weekends.

The greens are ultra fast and very slopey. The pins were all placed on crowns which made putting extraordinarily hard. The putting conditions spoiled the round for our 4-some.

1st time playing this course and very impressed with course conditions. An excellent mix of challenging holes and elevation changes. What impressed me the most were the shape of the greens, slopes, and speed. Highly recommend this course.

The course is challenging but fair. Friendly staff. Pretty decent play. Weekends aren’t the fastest time to play. Mix of lower skilled amateurs and youth on Sunday afternoons some walking with pull carts. Greens are very fast and the temps in the upper 80s have the fairways playing very long. I’d rather have this than everything plugging. Be prepared to club down. Pretty scenario and elevations. Very good price for weekends at $35 per person including cart. Would play again at this price.

Nice course, great people. Overall, the course is in good shape. The greens are in excellent shape, challenging, but not too fast. Golfers here actually fix their ballmarks. I will be back.
